I have to respect a bartender that brings a little gamesmanship!Anchored at the bar and the pregaming has begun. Bartender gave us this glass deliberately. This campus is lit and it’s not even noon.

Awesome post! We should do this for football AND basketball to get a trend for each game. That was fun! Very cool and unique! Everyone gets one crack and two hours before the game, see the totals. I understand that you don't have the time, but still....very cool.Below is every prediction on this thread up to this point (not counting multiple predictions by the same people) in order of the prediction. To count, a member has to have declared a winner either verbally (i.e. "Illinois will will this game") or by posting a score (i.e. "Indiana 34 - Illinois 16"). Writing a five page analysis without making a prediction didn't get counted, even if said analysis leaned very strongly towards one way or another. I think I got them all, but I may have missed some (sorry!).
The final count: Illinois was predicted to win 39 times, Indiana was predicted to win 14. And one prediction that at least one team will win.
Obviously you would expect this on an Illinois forum. I started compiling this list to prove a different point (which was proven, if anyone cares, but I no longer care because this was more fun). Also, post X being announced as out for the game (year, maybe), the predictions were still Illinois 9, Indiana 4.
No real point to all of this I suppose. Just a fun exercise.
NEWS THAT X. SCOTT WAS OUT BROKE OFFICIALLY HERE.

Is that pick to win or to cover the spread? I believe the latter.

Howard said:I'm going with the Fighting Illini of Illinois. Going on the road playing Indiana. I'm kind of spotty about the Hoosiers this year. So we're going to see if there as good as they were a year ago. I'm going with Illinois and (quarterback Luke) Altmyer. That's an easy pick for me. That's my superdog. Let's go Fighting Illini.
Herbstreit said:I'm going Illinois. I'm not only going Illinois, I'm going Illinois to win outright. I think Illinois is going to win the football game.
Saban said:I like Illinois in this game, too. I think they have a little better defense, and I think they may be the more physical team.
McAfee said:First time these two are playing as ranked opponents since 1950, it's a special time in the Big Ten for these two teams. Give me the home team, Indiana, down there in beautiful Bloomington.
Tkachuk said:Big Ten football, let's get the ice packs ready, boys. I've got Illinois on the road, a little upset alert, their defense is good.

Yea but the real canary in the coal mine is Pats pick so all goodThat's a bad sign.
I heard that on ESPN radio4/5 CGD pickers choose the Illini.
Kiss of death is Herbstreit calling Illini win, but a broken clock is right twice a day..I heard that on ESPN radio
hopefully not the kiss of death
Hmmm...That ain't happening..Our offensive line has played poorly to date to establish a good running game.... As such, the game plan will be a pass first mentality....If we win this game its because of takeaways and Luke Altmyer
Straight upIs that pick to win or to cover the spread? I believe the latter.
Let me start by saying this. I want our defense to shut me up and I want to eat enough crow to get me to Thanksgiving, so I can change over to Turkey. That would be awesome.
With all due respect to Western Illinois and Western Michigan, I focus on Duke who have players that are at least comparable to what we'll see in conference. Early in that game, we couldn't stop the run and Mensah did what he wanted and that includes about 3 flat out dropped balls that would have been six. When Duke had to pass because they got behind, we most definitely got home with two strip sacks.
Our second halves have really skewed numbers. We've been outstanding in every second half this year. Absolutely outstanding. The terms of the game changed enormously once we charged ahead.
Three items of note:
1)Our best corner is out. The only way to truly cover that up is to get a big pass rush without the need to blitz. If our corners are made to be in coverage for even an average amount of time, it's trouble.
2)The offense we're seeing today is explosive. They have elite playmakers and a QB that is going to deliver the ball on time and accurately if he has time to set up.
3)If our first half is even remotely as bad as our previous three games, we'll be down 31-10 at half.
I'm praying that you come back to this post with a fork and knife for a full meal of crow being jammed down my throat.
I believe the AP is a media poll but the USA Today coaches poll puts us 8th with a low of 12th and Indiana 17th with a low of 21st. The media and coaches seem to agree.I’m pretty sure it’s just media voters.
