LOL. I personally wouldn't boo him, but did you see the reception Skyy Clark got last year? Morez will be under attack by the Orange Crush from start to finish. If he (or his father) had handled things differently it could have been a better situation since he was such a fan favoritethe last year. That said, the way he left coupled with where he went have created a bitterness Illini fans have rarely felt...
It was...

Fun note: tryouts for the basketball pep band were last night. My freshman son tried out and I'm so proud. Probably won't make it as a freshman but a great learning experience and it means we are that much closer to the opening of the season! ILL!
Hey all! Update: My son didn't make the men's band as a freshman but did make the women's! Double basketball for me this year!!! So excited!

How many streaming services am I going to need this year? 😔
If Illinois basketball is not on the services that I already pay for on DIRECTV, I can easily find other things to watch or to do. I feel the same way about the Cardinals. Although right now they are not worth my time.

The silver lining of the football team getting demolished is no more "stop talking basketball when the football team is great"...I hope.
I'm on your side. It is always basketball season. It's always football season too.

We’re a basketball school.

Always will be.
I agree but the engagement stats Dan has shared recently have been eye opening - Just 4 games into the season and a couple of the football threads have already been among the most active threads ever on this site.

It could indicate that our fans are more passionate about football but have just been deprived of a good football team. Of course, football has always been a bigger draw in terms of fan attendance. So, maybe this isn't that surprising.

If people are thinking like me, they thought this time was different regarding football. I honestly thought we were finally past the "one season mirage followed by years of suck", but last night put a pretty substantial hole in that idea.

I hope I'm wrong and last night was just one of those nights like how even teams who win 100 games in a baseball season get beat 13-2 a couple of times a season. But history isn't on our side.

Taste of success however short lived will do that.

Looking at the schedule, we should sweep the home and home games. That’s 8 wins and if we can win the others home games that will be 14 wins. Steal a couple of road wins that are not from the home and home games and we can get a nice seed inn the Tourney. The B1G will be tough as UCLA, Purdue and both Michigans will be tough. Throw in an always solid Wisconsin team along with Washington and this will be the deepest B1G ever.
