How close is Dabo to retiring at this point? Clemson came into the season ranked 4th in the country and a quarterback that some said could go number one in the draft. They are now unranked sitting at 1-3 with their last two losses coming at the hands of Georgia Tech and Syracuse.
This post would fit equally well in the "It Could Be Worse" thread.
Just sayin.

He said if he got fired he would coach somewhere else.

Anyone else feel like Ed Orgeron to UCLA just makes too much sense?

He's got brand name recognition, winning pedigree, a big personality, and an intricate understanding of the area and recruiting in SoCal--not to mention a willingness of getting his hands dirty to snag a top recruit.
Surprised he hasn't been hired in the Interim so he can evaluate who to bring back and start recruiting his guys....

Unless UCLA doesn't want to pay 2 head coaches this year orrrrrrrr he rubbed some big donors the wrong way in his years of coaching for USC.

Golesh and Kinne would be my first calls ...

Old guy isn't the answer at UCLA ... Need a young guy who is HUNGRY to prove he can handle a bigger job and use UCLA as a stepping stone ...

They have to realize what they are at this point ...

Ed O is enjoying life way too much. I'd be shocked if he ever gets back in.

If Bama makes a move ... It would be for Kiffin or Cig ... Anyone else would be SHOCKING ...
The answer we've all been waiting for! Thanks Indy!

Though I would think Florida should make every effort to bring Cig in. Maybe they saw something in Golesh in the defeat?

I would think Sumrall from Tulane would be on Arky short list

Sumrall should be the top name that will be 100% available this off-season. He'll be looking at jobs that have a plausible shot at winning conference titles and making the CFB playoff (Florida, LSU type of jobs).

Guess I'm wrong.
I only know from being a long time listener of Pardon My Take. --Bret shouted out Big Kat today in his presser. Big Kat later tweeted some really nice comments on Bret/Illinois and said he plans to bet Illinois over USC this Saturday.

If you are of a certain age, podcasts may not be your thing but PMT is the biggest sports podcast in the world. Great to have them on your side in this climate helping bring eyeballs to your program.

I am in awe of what Cignetti has accomplished at IU. Forget Alabama - if I am an NFL owner I want him. He would look good on sidelines in Jacksonville !!!

great

we all know how that works out 98% of the time

If they can’t come up with nil money they definitely won’t want to come up with money for the buy out. Let him come back and kill the program even more. If they fired him I could see them targeting Jason Eck

If that's the state of things is it Fickell to blame, the AD, or the boosters? Might be a perfect storm of all parties failing to pull their weight.

He has some blame. His coordinator hires have been very bad

Coordinator hires aren’t an exact science. He has a similar issue as Beckman, where the staff he partially brought over (and some pieces he failed to convince to come with him) were excellent coaches. When he had to make new hires, he wasn’t as successful. Therefore his system became especially dependent on him, and he’s proving that he isn’t a difference maker on his own.

Trying to go air raid in Wisconsin wasn’t a good idea

Dabo won't retire... The only way he goes is if Clemson lets him go...
