The first down call was fine. The penalty flipped it completely. Was gonna be 2nd and 3. Perfect run run scenario.

The first one wasn't errant, Clement broke the wrong way. The 2nd one needed an absolutely perfect throw based on coverage and if it's short, it's a pick 6.

Don't love us going to 2nd and 8 and not running it with how well we've been running it.. Lunney can be so good and then go and get cute.
This feels like at least a 2 poss. game. Illinois letting USC off the hook.
So Valentine gets 7 yard run on 1st down. Priestly gets another penalty. He might be a pro at guard, but man he leads all lineman in penalties in Big10. Those end up in losses. Bone head.
Beatty and Clement should be owning them on slant and slant and go all day until they prove they can stop it
