I will go ahead and be that guy. I absolutely hate this game. Bad team but looks to be scrappy. Hung 30 on Notre Dame. At their place, coming off a bye, you know Browne will be licking his chops. And we always struggle with running quarterbacks.

Prove me wrong and win by 30, please.

We will need to score early and.often. Purdue has moved the ball, but has no defense. Sound familiar?

T-R-A-P Trap Trap Trap. I think we're a well coached team that won't fall into it, but coming off an emotional homecoming win against big name USC and playing #1OSU the following week, there is no question this is a textbook trap game. So you come out and play Purdue as aggressive and angry and punishing as you did today. Many many many teams lose games exactly like this each year, so prepare the right way, play like it's a playoff game, and stomp the life out of them when you get the chance.

Win this game, don't give them a sniff of a chance and move to 5-1. In Bret I trust to have the team ready for this one and get the win.

This isn't a trap game. Just last week Illinois lost by 50+. Bielema and the Illini got their walnut sack smashed in with a steel toed boot. Repeatedly.

That loss will last the entire year. You don't forget it.

I think people have different definitions of what a trap game is. Playing a struggling team who has a recent history of playing their best football against you on the road sandwiched between 2 ranked opponents, one of which you beat on a walk off field goal on homecoming as your fans rushed the field and the other the #1 team in the country is in my opinion pretty much unquestionably a trap game. That said others have definitions if it's only a trap game if you think you're going to lose, or it's only a trap game if you think the player's mindset won't be right, or some other random circumstances.

People can call things however they want, but if you're a ranked favorite playing a team that could feasibly be overlooked bookended by two very high profile games, I'll call that a trap game every single time regardless of teams or additional context.

As I said in my post, I have faith Bielema makes sure the team us in the correct headspace and come with the same fire and intensity they did today, and I think we're too experienced a team to fall victim to it, but this is a trap game no question in my mind. Just gotta go out and play good smart prepared football.
