Number of punts next week by OSU?

If I set it at 1.5

You got over or under?

I think I'm under. But its as much OSU, I don't think anyone is better.

OSU is not a powerful offense. But if we play like we did today, missed tackles, soft zone and taking bad angles, we may need to score 60 to win.

Minnesota is playing them tough, we can give them a game if we come out like we did against USC.

We will only go as far as our defense and O-line perform in this game, cause this is not the kinda game that you can simply out score the opponent.

Absolutely the kind of game where you must create some chaos and avoid self-inflicted damage, in order to have a chance.

We don't have the dudes to play this game straight up and win. It's as simple as that.

So that means we must cause turnovers and throw whatever curveballs we may have in the playbook. If you can avoid them getting solid momentum and make them uncomfortable, in a sold-out home environment, anything can happen.

Creating chaos inherently means adding risk. And I'm all for it. Maybe we install the Bears' "46-Defense" this week.

I'm also thinking maybe we attempt to repeat the Dave Wilson 600 yard game against the Buckeyes from 40 years ago. Come out of the locker room with the notion of using the pass to set up a few strategic runs. (If today was 22 passing attempts vs 44 rushing attempts, we may need to flip the script next Saturday.) Let's get creative!

I’d like to see us to play strong at the offensive and defensive line, tackle well and avoid the big plays. I feel if we can do those things it puts us in a position to run the table after OSU for a 10-2 season

Should be a fun game.

Biggest keys imo
1. U of I’s redzone offense vs our defense.
2. How loud the crowd can get.
3. Discipline

1. Your guys offense has been really good this year. Our defense has been suffocating though especially in the red zone. You guys will move the ball but if you’re settling for 3 I think we pull it out. However, if you’re converting those in to TDs we’re going to be in for a game

2. Day the last two years has been very conservative in games where we have had to go silent count. Way more runs, predictable play calling, and quick game. If your crowd can force us to go silent I think there’s a way better chance of it being a low scoring slug fest.

3. Taking care of the ball and penalties are huge in every big game but in this one it really feels like a turnover or big penalty that stops a scoring drive very well could be the difference.

I’m thinking 24 -13 bucks with a late field goal to make it 2 scores. Hoping for a good time in Champaign! I’ll be pulling for you guys the rest of the way though.

By the end of the week, I’m sure I’ll be predicting an Illini win (how could any fan not back their own team?), but today, if I could guarantee an 11 point loss, I’d take it.
