Am I the only one who expects USC to win at South Bend? I'm sure it'll be a great game but that SC offense is very good.

Teams in bold who we’d like to see win:

Nebraska at Minnesota
7:00pm CT - FOX

Saturday, October 18th

Washington at Michigan
11:00am CT - FOX

Georgia Tech at Duke
11:00am CT - ESPN

Michigan State at Indiana
2:30pm CT - Peacock

Oregon at Rutgers
5:30pm CT - BTN

Maryland at UCLA
6:00pm CT - FS1

USC at Notre Dame
6:30pm CT - NBC

——

Optimizes for strength of schedule outside of the Michigan game. I want Washington coming into our game on a losing streak.
Disagree with Maryland. You want the teams we have remaining to lose to create the easiest path.

I see no advantage statistically, emotionally, mentally, or momentum-wise (one way or another) to hope Michigan wins against Washington.

We, above all else, need to beat Washington. We don’t play Michigan, so we need Washington to beat Michigan so that we “win by proxy“.

I agree with everything else on your list, though.

Of note, ND made the announcement today that one of their top d lineman, Gabe Rubio, is out for the game with an elbow injury. That is a big loss for the Irish, on a defense that's been very wobbly this season (although much better these last two games).

Also, the forecast is for 64 and notable rain for the game, which kicks off at 7:30 local.

That is my impression as well. However, in another thread there was a chart of top college passing offenses and ND was rated higher than USC. FYI, Illinois was rated 3rd behind Washington and Indiana.
ND started out with 2 top opponents but haven’t played against anyone since. USC is coming off games against Illinois and Michigan.
USC has to overcome road game in very tough stadium.

I agree with your choices and will add that the Michigan win ideally will be close and physically tasking.

Agree with everything except Michigan. I want Washington coming in fat and happy. Most of the time it seems like good teams play their best after a loss, and i think Washington is a good team. Plus that SOS boost would be nice. USC, Washington, and Duke all finishing with 9+ wins would make our schedule look really good.

I don't understand your sentiment with Michigan vs Washington? Washington becomes a ranked road victory with a win. I want Washington to win a close game where Michigan physically dominates them.
