Mirk and z ivisic have been very impressive. Kylan looks really good on rhythm threes and defense. We look to have more weapons and ball handlers this year. Should be fun.

Mirk is going to be a PROBLEM and a matchup nightmare, especially when pairing him and Tomi/Z.

My brain shouldn't be making this connection for multiple reasons. One, he was one of the most annoying players in college basketball history. And two, it's setting the expectation level way, way too high because he was also one of the best, but Mirk feels a lot like Tyler Hansbrough. Same exact height and weight. Same motor. Just an absolute dog who everyone hates playing against. And can just bully his way into any position he wants to get into on a college basketball court. I'm glad he's on our side.
But that isn't a good question because of how Illinois needs rebounding this season and Mirk delivers in this regard.
Z, on the other hand, is great when T isn't available. I'm also open to a little T + Z together, just for fun. But, after losing Morez, this team needs rebounding and Mirk helps get us close (along with retaining Tomi, of course).
Not watching but listening. Good things I hear......
1. Mirk can do a lot of things.
2. Big Z is expanding his game while retaining high energy.
3. Ben is playing like a vet with 7 boards, and asst., and only one three attempt.
4. Kylan being Kylan...very efficient
Questions.
1. Will AS lift the level of play for this team?
2. Will Petrovic ever be ruled eligible?
3. Can Ty add anything that is needed come Feb./Mar.?
4. What will Tomi be able to do with his brother and Mirk? Stay tuned.
As has been said, the sky is the limit as these guys fix sore spots and learn just what they can do with and for each other that can't be stopped or scored upon.
This scrimmage has really sent us hoops junkies on fire!!!!!!! If anyone of us has any pull with a TV network, that person needs to get the Florida scrimmage on the air live!!
