In the case that Ty misses the entire season, it would be near impossible for him not to be granted an additional full year of eligibility due to medical. There's a lot of precedent for this to the point of it probably be considered fairly typical.

But if Ty plays after early January at any point that will in almost all cases burn the eligibility year.

The NCAA is considering a 5 years to play 5 rule. As I understand it, there would no longer be redshirts of any kind.

It's been widely reported that this is no longer under consideration for the 26-27 academic year. It's been tabled as of a couple weeks ago.

I don’t think he wants to. I think I read or heard something like that. Unless he actually cannot play, or could only come back, say in February or March, he wants to play this year.

I mean... you're losing a lot of money so .

Plus, this roster will likely be very established by that point with the dudes we have at the 3/4. Won't be the easiest acclimation process.
