Do people want that because they live near Tampa? I know it sounds spoiled but we were just there 3 years ago for the game. Music City would open up a chance for fans to experience a new bowl.
People seem scared of playing Vanderbilt in Nashville, even though they have a small fanbase and many of our fans would be able to drive.

I think the weather is the top reason. I also want it because it is the slightly more prestigious bowl and being able to tell recruits you've played there twice and at the Citrus bowl in 4 seasons is great. Vandy may also end up there, and I personally wouldn't want to play them in essentially a home game.

With our historical luck, it would be Vanderbilt in Nashville.

Even though Vandy is good, they don't have a large fan base. Look at their last 2 home games, Mizzou and LSU both were very present.

Plus, we are comparing that scenario to a Florida bowl against an SEC school. We will be out numbered either way.

I was thinking more of the scenario of getting LSU in Nashville and having flashbacks of "sorry you won the Big Ten but can't go to the Rose Bowl... how about the Sugar Bowl against LSU instead?"

If I look at from a destination and ignore the prestige/match-up possibilites, I would like to go to Nashville. The weather in Tampa around New Year is not a draw for me. Nashville would be fun and I think would have the biggest Illini crowd. But, I haven't really tried to analyze the demographics of the fan base. What do others think? Where's @Fighter of the Nightman ?

My new favorite playoff scenario: If the eventual ACC champ (say, Duke) finishes behind two G5 champs in the CFP rankings (say, North Texas and James Madison), then the ACC could be left out of the college playoff entirely.

That would be fantastic. Serves them right not wanting the guaranteed playoff spot scenario offered by the B1G. That's the only option that allows teams to play tough OOC games.

Easy for us: prefer 5 hour drive to Nashville. It is 4 hour drive to home games (last few games we've done there and back same day due to other events - making Game Days was rough)
