I root for no college team but the beloved.
If you root for the beloved, there's more to gain from a Purdue win. Although we play both, we have more common opponents with Purdue, where a stronger Purdue would make those more valuable. Probably not much difference, but might be worth something in the metrics. Also, we could play Purdue again in the BTT.
Keep the metrics out of it. This is pure, unadulterated emotion!!

I am a Bama/ILL fan and I am worried about tonight. Kaufman-Renn is back and Bama lost most of their frontcourt from last year. I think they pound the inside and beat Bama on their home floor.

In a four game stretch, Alabama plays St Johns (won), Purdue, Illinois and Gonzaga. I don't think they can finish this stretch undefeated, but it also seems to my amateur mind that they are not very likely to lose two in a row, either. That means they have to beat Purdue or else we'll be called on to deliver their second loss in a row.

I watched the St. johns game. They dominated guard play. You have to get them off the trey line and make them shoot tough 2's. Their guards are really really good. As usual Nate did a good job of restocking the shelves.

Last year they played Purdue (at Mackey) then turned around and played Illinois (in Birmingham) also, and lost to Purdue and beat us. Maybe this year it will swap with the home/away advantages flipped haha

It’s funny that we never get a home and home in which the Illini have the home game 1st. Is that by design?

Who are you rooting for tonight in Purdue/Alabama?
Alabama. Could be a potential for us to slide into the top 10 and Bama would potentially with top 5 with 2 huge wins over St. John’s and Purdue. A win next week would be massive. Gives us an opponent in common when comparing resumes to help us get priority for the St.Louis-Chicago path if we could beat them next week.

Make me the universal commissioner of basketball for all the sport and you would never see a camera or other hard object with 50 for of the floor. Having photographers under the basket is the result of terminal stupidity. My H. S. gym had two water fountains built into a tile wall on one end and the ticket office door with a protruding knob at the other, both directly underneath the baskets and 7-8 ft from the end line. I have seen some gruesome injuries caused by some pretty dumb decisions. Absolutely hate seeing photographers with cameras on the end lines....or anywhere near the floor if players can make contact during play. Even the official scoring benches need some kind of protection other than a guys hands.
