Are you people clinically insane? We should all be doing backflips for Fitz as a DC
I think most of us who spend hours on here qualify as insane...I do share your opinion of Fitz though.
We are on a message board, of course we are insane. Could be worse, we could use terms like workrate...

As I understand it, he wanted to play for Illinois but was not recruited. Consequently, he wanted to beat Illinois badly and took great delight when he did. To me, he's like the Pete Rose of B1G football. You like him if he's your guy. Otherwise, he's a d**k.

I was not a fan of hiring Chris Beard when that was being discussed theoretically - even though he was "cleared," however I think every situation has nuance and is more than just a headline. Based on what I've read, I'd welcome Fitz as our new DC if that were to happen. In short - not all resolutions that end in someone being "cleared" are the same, but I'd be ok with this one.

Don't get the appeal of CSU for Mora 2.0. Not any higher up the rung than where he is now. $$ might be the answer. Bigger and better jobs likely to be available next year. I guess he could jump again if need be.

Morris taking the OSU job seems early. Ole Miss, Auburn, Arky all still open and Mizzou might be as well.

well , they can do what we did in 1991 when our AD/Coach left and we had no one to hire a coach . Assign it to a random Dept Head in LAS and have him hire the coach

I joke , but that’s sorta what happened
A fatal moment in our football history. We were second to Ohio State in Big Ten wins over the previous 12 years and instead of a national coaching search we hired an unproven coordinator in CDP.

Well… “cleared.”

A legal settlement is not the same as being exonerated. And even if he were completely cleared, in that case it would mean the head coach had absolutely no clue as to what was happening under his watch within his program.

Hard pass.

I’ll just leave this here …

The hesitation on Fitz is from people who aren't serious about winning, no other way around it

That statement says there was no evidence he condoned or directed the hazing. Fine.

How does this address the concern that he "had absolutely no clue as to what was happening under his watch within his program." If anything, it confirms it.

“The University has taken action to ensure hazing will not occur again.”

This pretty clearly states hazing did indeed occur when Fitzgerald ran that football program, and based on what those hazing accusations were it was pretty awful.

So, he either was aware of the hazing and did nothing. Or wasn’t aware of it and was therefore incompetent.

Idk…maybe now that we have a good football program we shouldn’t tarnish it unnecessarily.
