He’s going to be an NFL OC … Soon …
yea i figured if we were going to get him back as anything other than a HC it would probably have to be now. awesome spot for him with the rams developing under McVay. would love to see him take over for BB some day assuming he continues on his current trajectory

If we move on at DC … It’s Fitz and Jimmy in my mind … Start there and make them say no …

As far as OC … Whoever it is, needs to retain the Shark and Art … My recommendation would be Kotelnicki but that will take a giant bag … A name that I personally like, Scott Isphording … Has the Ohio and Indiana ties … Good coach …

Indy.....IF we move on ???

What would your best guess odds of us moving on be? 50%? 80%?

Not sure I see BL leaving this off-season. We suffered 4 pretty high-profile "bad losses" in which we averaged 15 ppg -- (perhaps all of them when we were ranked with big expectations?) Is he a stellar recruiter and/or leader of men? Maybe --- not sure.

Now with that said, I do think he probably should leave if that's the career path he desires. Next year will be a lot tougher with a new Illini QB, as compared to year 3 with Luke. And if that's how things shake out, all the better for Bret and us!

So, $5M per year combined? $3M and $2M?

Are we not ready to put this bag out there now?

"IF" huh?

I was under the impression this was more of a foregone conclusion. Looks like AH has given up just 15 ppg over his last 4 games. Competition was way down, of course.

Isphording is a solid coach. He is a spread option offense out of the shotgun. It creates space with opens the field for multiple plays. What is great about this offense is that you can run any kind of play from it. It’s completely versatile. Any type of QB can run it. It’s quite different than what BLJ runs which is a tempo pro-style offense. I think Luke would have loved a spread option with his read option ability.

Clarifying --- if BL stays, all the better for us.

I think this would be a pretty decent jumping-off point for him if that's what he really wants to do. I just don't think he's going to receive a great opportunity elsewhere.

In hindsight Tim Beckman’s Toledo staff was loaded with Matt Campbell and Alex Golesh.

I can’t say with 100% confidence there will be any staff changes at this point … I do think a couple are likely but nothing has been told me as a “done deal” …
If Henry is brought back is will be borderline criminal... If Miller is brought back- it will be highly concerning...

Either way- changes need to be made- full stop. The fact that Werner is essentially saying Henry can't be kept on- Werner is a fair, thoughtful, knowledgable reporter.. He and Lehman have both been HIGHLY critical of Henry. I felt Henry needed to go last year- so did much of our fanbase- we weren't wrong. If he's brought back again... I just can't fathom Bret being that foolish
