There was no damn assault with Fitzgerald, he wasn't even involved. It was hazing. Stuff we laughed at for decades. Now it is taboo, and we're going to pretend it's monstrous.

Now, the particular type of hazing that took place at Northwestern was.....odd. But let's not pretend he's some sort of criminal.
"..they would be restrained by a group of 8-10 upperclassmen dressed in various “Purge-like” masks, who would then begin “dry-humping” the victim in a dark locker room. " Hilarious!

If BB bring back Henry he will lose a lot of respect with the fan base. If he bring back both Henry and Miller it could be a PR disaster.
I’m sure both BB and Josh know this.

I forgot Lane Kiffin named his son after a place where he spent one year.

Completely on brand.

Michigan State … Open …

Continue to hear Brian Kelly would be interested … Fitz would be interested …
Brian Kelly is one of the most overrated coaches. Michigan State would be doing us a favor if they hired him.

That amount of money is wild and kind of disgusting. 1/3 of kids in Louisiana live in poverty but they seem more concerned about getting a football coach.
Read the Hot Rod Williams story with the Cleve. Cavs about that and how he got a Tulane degree without being able to read

he won the lawsuit and a lot of $ and they found no proof that he knew of any of the stuff that was happening... I'm not saying he didn't do anything wrong- I have no idea- but at least in this situation- they found nothing that was an indictment against him. I'm not even saying he should have another job.. the stuff that happened under his watch is gross and horrific..

Guys, they settled the lawsuit, meaning he accepted less then he would have gotten if he'd won outright. How much less? We don't know...it's confidential.

As part of the settlement Northwestern said the evidence "did not establish" that Fitz "condoned or directed" the hazing.

That statement doesn't even say he didn't know about it. Just that they didn't have evidence he "condoned or directed" it. Absolutely not him "winning the lawsuit" and certainly doesn't answer the question of "did he know what was happening in his locker room, and if not, how is that possible?"

Michigan State is an exceptionally hard job given that you are competing in state vs Michigan and Ohio State just south. I really doubt Pat Fitzgerald turns them into anything. Not that he’s a bad coach I just don’t think it can be done in an era where Michigan/Ohio State are both as strong as they are.

I don’t think it’s a good move for Pat professionally. I think NW is an easier job even with far lower expectations. I think a better situation would have been him trying to be a coordinator at the NFL level,

Put simply, either Fitz was so deaf, dumb and blind that he missed a decade of systematic abuse in his locker room OR he condoned it.

Either option is really really bad.

Regarding MSU as a university, they have struggled mightily do what is right in sports. Larry Nassar and numerous football/basketball player scandals over the years which I'm too polite to go in great detail. I don't know Fitz the person/human, I would guess that he is a good person overall. But he had a major failing in what occurred at NU. Every organization has had a "zero tolerance" for hazing, to allow it and promote it is a significant error in judgement.

I don't know how he will do at MSU. But I have learned that culture eats stratedgy, I don't know if new recruits would trust that this coach has changed. If Beiliema is seriously recruiting against Fitz in Illinois, please refer those kids parents to past news events.
None of them will care. Literally NONE. This is a home run hire for MSU.

I seriously don't understand the Lunney hate.
Did you watch the 2nd half? His run game calls and scheme has left a lot to be desired over the years as well....slow developing shotgun handoffs up the gut for zero yards a calling card. That being said, I think he is a very good OC.
