Will be a good defensive matchup for our guards as their guards scoring a majority of teams points. Starting center has been out.for a couple games. CeeCee having to learn the post position. Hope she can stay out of foul trouble. Mimosas and egg sandwiches as long as they last Illini faithful.
Let’s bring the roar to SFC.

Seems we might have 8 ranked Big 10 teams ahead of us to start the 2025-26 season. That would say that we're projected middle-of-the-pack at best, but with a really young roster. Based upon YTD stats, we seem to have 2-3 solid "bigs" and some pretty decent ball handling guards. But our 3-pt shooting will be a big drop-off when compared to the past three years. Does this sound about right? Any chance to surprise the experts?

I thought this was a great question and wanted experts to reply before I gave it a shot. Wallace, Webber, Parchment are three point shooters. The games we have played for the most part it was not necessary they were the only 3 point shooters. Dolan can shoot the three, however I think she is more of a scorer than a true three point shooting player just because she is hot and cold. Except for Oregon State and Florida State we never got to see what the team can do when they have to. We are young and getting to know each other.I think we showed signs of being more than a middle of the pack team.

Our defense, depth and a bit of size this year will compliment the great guards we have and we are deep in guards. Expect a variety of high scorers and leaders each game in steals for this group

When have score the last points at the end of the quarter/half by holding the ball and going inside to our 6-7 post to score the easy 2? We have scored the last points at the end of many quarters/half already this year and in a variety of ways. Three pointers, driving to he basket and not feeding out post player.

Illini up 28-12 end of 1st Qtr against a 7-1 team.

The main difference I’m seeing in play this game (haven’t seen the others) versus the previous seasons is how decisive and intentional we are playing!

Get the ball into the big, big takes the immediate shot! No overthinking! Just execute what we practiced! And what we practiced is what we are doing in the game!
