This team absolutely doesn't have a Terrance Shannon
So let's root for who we have.

Great win! I believe Illinois outrebounded Tennessee in the 2nd half, and they outscored them by 15 points. So, if Illinois can rebound decently in the future, this future will look bright. Better effort for sure.

I am very hard on David, and he has proven that he can play against better competition. He had some rebounds, took the ball to the whole, posted up and hit a three-pointer within the offense. He wasn't tentative at all in the 2nd half. Let's see more of 2nd half David in the future.

I believe Tomas and his brother had a total of 12 points in the post with baby hooks or layups over their defender. Keep that up! Twelve very important points were huge in this game.

The Petro experiment should continue because there is something there. Maybe send a trailer rebounder hard toward his drives for clean up but he does have that ability to get to the rim that is rare!

Agreed, there’s certainly something there. Gotta remember how shots at the rim work. For example last year + this year KB is shooting 70% at the rim which is extremely good, some days it’ll be 6-6 and you think nothing but the days he goes 2-6 or 3-6 you notice it. Those are short shots but nearly always contested in some way. Much too small of a sample to think a Euro league MVP candidate guy can’t finish plays.

Way too early to make heads or tails out of too much right now. It's still SO early. After we got curb stomped by UCONN, after a bit of a clunker vs UTRGV at home, people were saying the same thing about us, including our own fans.

I agree that there is very good potential with him, especially on his drives to the hole. He needs to finish. How about stopping in the middle of the lane and hitting a D-Rose type shot. I also see open looks from there, if he can dish it out.

I showed my two daughters pictures of Andrej and Keaton; I had told them they look like cast members of High School Musical—they agreed. I think they probably play better than Zac Efron though.

Agree, I feel he's still in bad shape with that leg. We'll need that old jet at some point.

They showed a graphic in the 1st half that we were 3rd in the nation out of 358 or whatever teams in rebound margin, so I tend to think/hope that 1st half was an outlier.

Felt like the Alabama game. Tennessee should have made free throws and had a bigger half time lead.

Glad to see Illinois fire in 2nd half and pull away

Keaton with 16 pts, 8 Rebs, and 5 asts. Led or tied for the lead in all three categories while being the primary ball handler and second on the team in minutes. Maybe the most impressive recruiting diamond in the rough we’ve ever had.
I start to worry he will be a one and done. It is safe to say he is better than Will Riley. He is 2" shorter but he can do everything Riley can do just better. I am not talking down Riley and he has a bright future in the league.

I wouldnt agree with that percentage. I would say there is a very vocal minority that hates him. The majority of us are either neutral or actually like him without thinking he is the second coming.
