Quit making excuse for these guys. We only have 2 players that are consistent. Tomi and Mirk are no shows. Stupid tech. for what cost us 5 points at a critical time. Can't make free throws. Absolutely no excuse in college. Poor defense, I mean lack of. The same guy that guarded Thorton in OSU game also guarded Sanfort today. Irt was NOBODY!! Now 9 days off before Missouri kicks our butts! This team cannot shoot, they are soft and slow! DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE BRANDON LEED IS AT?

Wagler literally plays 40 minutes, does not sit a second.

6-13 FG, 4-8 from 3, 10 assist to 3 TO.
Meanwhile AS is asking out of a game he played a whopping 27 minutes. Way too soft, sorry. Too much of that on this team.

Edit: May have come off too harsh on AS. He had a good 27 minutes, and he's certainly not the reason for the loss. Tomi though HAS to give the team more than 3 points (albeit a big shot) and 5 rebounds in 29 minutes. And his D definitely does not warrant those minutes if he is not scoring.

20 games left in the regular season. If you look at the schedule, 10-10 wouldn't be a stretch in this conference for THIS team. Some good individuals, but not a good team. Not sure why.

If they lose all 20, I'll still watch just to see Wagler and Andrej...as they probably won't be here next year for one reason or another.

Sam hoiberg axmccording to BU was key making the right choices and getting in the lane making good passes. Our guy that can do similar things never gets a chance. I would love to see Mihailo with Kylan and Wags at the 1 -3. BU just won't play him at all

I disagree that zone got a few stops actually the man defense is putrid. They cant stay in front of nobody the Hoiberg kid schooled every guard on the team today. He did whatever he wanted when he wanted got to every spot to run they offense.
He did that during the zone. From about 6 min to 2:30 on the clock. It served its purpose for a couple of possessions, but it gave wide open layups for several possessions during that span.

Longtime lurker here, figure this is a fine time to make my first post
This was a truly fun basketball game to watch. I believe both teams are top 15 as of now. The season is far from over after that loss. Nebraska’s offense was fantastic and that last shot…they earned it tonight.
Some takeaways:
Need to come out with fire to open first/second halves.
Need to take the hot shooter out of the game before the second half.
Did finish both halves with fire, good to see.
I think Andrej was the team’s leading rebounder today, love to see it.
Tomi is not 100% yet, he’ll get better as the season goes on
The soft tech on Z really killed the momentum, we never recovered from that
This team is going to win a ton of games this year, losses like this happen. Just have to make it the only such loss. I think it stays quad 1.
Beat mizzou, ILL!

LOL I guess we did cause I don't see how he think the man defense was good. Sandfort had 26 before the half and 32 for the game a career night.
Never said the man was good. Just said that stretch of some weird match up zone was bad.

Narrator: it was. Without TSJ, you wonder if Underwood would still be considered this amazing coach.

Illinois will never get to the “next level” with this coaching staff”. Like it or not!!
