Chicago Blackhawks 2025-2026

Regressing to the mean. They had unsustainable goalie work and shooting pct early. Bedard was carrying them for the most part the last couple weeks. Time to see if a few of these young guys can step forward and generate offense. Getting shutout by Gibson is hard to do these days.

Looking like it may be another year of stacking talent in the draft (2 lottery picks hopefully!). Not a terrible outcome and probably what was expected prior to the season.

dodged an artillery shell there (no surgery). a massive amount of caution should be in play here

looking at the bright side, the Hawks could make hay in the tank. 2 more elite players, please

Just rest? I haven't seen any updates yet.

I saw yesterday that they plan to sit him for the rest of this year. They will re-evaluate in early January. Bedard apparently told them he'd be OK to return by next week, but they decided to be cautious.

Feels like the wheels are falling off.
After last night, it feels like they're off and Ralphie might have lost the wheel nuts.

Only 3 points out of last place now. 5th worst in the league in terms of win % and probably not winning anytime soon.

Stenberg or Lawrence, please! Florida has to do its part too, lol

I'm not too upset with the outcome, given the limitations of the roster once Nazar left too. Nice seeing Lardis get his goal, looked pretty slick.

The improvement of draft odds isn't a terrible thing for this team. Despite a really hot start that was somewhat unsustainable, it's clear this team needs a few high end pieces still to put around Bedard and the other youngsters. With Kantserov and Frondell on the way next year, and maybe some more productive vets, the playoffs will be a real possibility.

Something to look forward to, Kantserov leading the KHL in goals, 2nd in points. Check the ages in the top 10.

For context, Demidov had 49 points in 65 games in the same league last year, Michkov 41points in 48 games 2 years ago.

We drafted 3 of the top 10 KHL scorers. Very nice!

joking aside, help is coming:

The Athletic's take on the first game for Team Sweden. ($)

Blackhawks’ Frondell leads Sweden to opening win

Anton Frondell, Chicago’s pick at No. 3 in the 2025 NHL Draft, was instrumental in Sweden’s Boxing Day victory. He blasted a one-timer for Sweden’s opening goal and set up Victor Eklund (Islanders), both on the power play. He played hard and was constantly around the offensive attack. Eklund was also quite good, showing his trademark tenacity that has scouts thinking he can help an NHL team even with his smaller frame. — Corey Pronman
