And it would reduce our magic number to "1" for winning the division. Huge win if we can get it!!!!!!I think a win next Saturday clinches a playoff spot.

Swift has really run tough this year.
It is amazing what a real OL and offensive system can mean to a RB. I remember pre-draft seeing mock drafts and “Twitter pundits” advocating for Bears to trade up to get Jeanty cuz Swift sucked and Johnson didn’t like him because he was there when Lions traded Swift away. To this boards credit I don’t remember such sentiments on here much with the closest being Jeanty would be a good pick if still around at pick 10.
Fast forward and Jeanty at #6 is only a few yards better than #233 Kyle M. In quite a few more carries. Loveland has worked out more than just fine at #10. And Swift is 5 yards behind Saquon in 49 fewer carries.
rare is the running back these days that is worthy of a 1st round pick . it’s not an impossibility, just very very unlikely today .It is amazing what a real OL and offensive system can mean to a RB. Improving the pass rush is the biggest need... Beyond figuring out how to keep Nashon Wright, who will be playing for a lot more than the minimum next season. We might be a year ahead of schedule...
The d is solid in spots but that lack of pass rush really sticks out like a sore thumb. Not sure who is available but a top notch pass rusher on that team would elevate the whole thing. The offense appears to be developing in a way that they won't need an elite defense to have high level success. Just a solid defense that can get off the field more than not.Improving the pass rush is the biggest need... Even with the five sacks yesterday, the pass rush wasn't that impressive. Most of them were from Sanders holding onto the ball forever. They are a terrible blitzing team too. They never get there and give up a lot of big plays when they blitz. They have had a few corner blitzes work this year but that's about it.The d is solid in spots but that lack of pass rush really sticks out like a sore thumb. It appears that Ben is the real deal on the sidelines & we might have the franchise QB finally. The teams that get those 2 things right are the franchises that are consistently good.
In fairness though not to say your wrong I agree if meant was there at 10 I think we would of took him.But this is where I slightly disagree if jeanty was running behind the bears oline I think his numbers would look so much better besides being on alot better offensive team and scheme in the bears compared to the raiders but your right Loveland is coming around I wasn't super high on the pick at the time but the guy is a walking mismatch for defenses besides him battling injuries especially early in the season there's no way his potential dont stick outIt is amazing what a real OL and offensive system can mean to a RB. Punctuation makes it difficult to be certain of your points, but I think we basically agree. I think Jeanty would have better stats if on the Bears, just like Swift is having a better year on this year’s version of the Bears with Ben Johnson/revamped line.In fairness though not to say your wrong I agree if meant was there at 10 I think we would of took him.But this is where I slightly disagree if jeanty was running behind the bears oline I think his numbers would look so much better besides being on alot better offensive team and scheme in the bears compared to the raiders but your right Loveland is coming around I wasn't super high on the pick at the time but the guy is a walking mismatch for defenses besides him battling injuries especially early in the season there's no way his potential dont stick out
You’re right that Swift doesn’t excel at yards after contact. Last few years including this year and last, he’s averaged 1.8 yards after contact per attempt, which is right about league average. I think a lot of people would be surprised that the averages are the same for this year and last. The big difference is that last year’s line was so bad that Swift had his worst yards before contact season averaging only 2.0 per attempt. He made 47% of his yards last year after contact. This year it is only 37%. Like I said, OL and scheme/system. And not being stopped almost immediately has led to his second highest number of broken tackles in a season already with 11 (high is 21 with Philly).I was pretty anti-Swift early in the season, based on his body of work not only with the Bears but also the Lions. He never struck me as someone who can get yards after contact, but he has certainly done that over the past several games. Good on him.
Also good on Minogue, the coaches, and particularly the O-line for getting things figured out so quickly.
Uh, ok.....so NW Indinia huh.
Bears management is unbelievable inept. They continue to pretend like they have leverage when everyone knows they have to build in AH.Uh, ok.....so NW Indinia huh.
Minongai looks like a future elite running back to me. Swift has this year & next left on his deal. I suspect by 2 years from now Minongai is the lead back & a potential all pro level guy. He's built like a running back & really finishes his runs strong.I was pretty anti-Swift early in the season, based on his body of work not only with the Bears but also the Lions. It's not in the same form but I do recall Ricketts doing something in terms of veiled threats to leave Wrigley when the city was jacking them around on the rooftops & how it related to the stadium remodel at Wrigley. Never rose to this public of a level but there were some whispers about it.Bears management is unbelievable inept. There are people who will say NW Indiana is basically Chicago and I'm sorry but it just isn't. St Louis had a franchise ripped away. San Diego was betrayed. It's not in the same form but I do recall Ricketts doing something in terms of veiled threats to leave Wrigley when the city was jacking them around on the rooftops & how it related to the stadium remodel at Wrigley. DJ Moore has a chance to put the trade rumors out of their misery.Burden and Odunze ruled out for Saturday.
I think the timing was intentional to do just that... put the onus on the state at a time in the Bears season where a lot of even casual fans are paying attention (playing the Packers this weekend with the 1 seed on the line).Their leverage is "Watch me burn this 210 million dollars" and the state is like, "Aight."
Unfortunately this just brought out the folks who dislike Pritzker/Illinois politics when it's really the Bears own fault.
The bad timing of the letter is because the Tribune was going to put out that they were looking at NW Indiana.
Yeah it reads like a slap in the face to be honest, knowing that there will be a lot of people who will just get mad at the government without really knowing what js actually happening.I think the timing was intentional to do just that... put the onus on the state at a time in the Bears season where a lot of even casual fans are paying attention (playing the Packers this weekend with the 1 seed on the line).
Not many people will bother to dig into the details of the state already committing to billions of dollars for infrastructure improvements, but not willing to give on property tax giveaways because that's what actually pays for those billions in dollars in infrastructure improvements.
