I know "ensh*tification" has a somewhat narrow/specific definition, but IMO it is useful in a broad sense, too.

Such as with respect to the CFB and CBB experiences.

"Ensh*tification" really does apply in the way that the "customer" has seemingly been elided from the conversation.

Didn’t want to start a new thread. Just wanted to say I’m extremely impressed with how that Mendoza kid carries himself. Seems like a genuinely humble really good kid. I’d much rather it be an Illini of course but still refreshing to see something so off the radar crash the party

I share your and @Pikeillinifan's skepticism.

If ND is really searching for alternatives, the B1G makes the most sense. In the Midwest, already play B1G hockey, have several rivals in conference (Mich., MSU, Purdue, USC), and more.
Notre Dame is not looking for anything. They will be a shoe into the playoffs every year with expansion coming and will make a killing every year. They will not have to share it because of independency. In my opinion, they should have to share it with every independent including Military schools :)

We’ll see what happens when their entire schedule is worse than it already is because no P5 teams will play them.

Thanks ND

It's not because of Notre Dame. There's no interest in a lot of these bowl games. Look at some of these matchups: Troy vs. Jacksonville State, Louisiana vs. Delaware, Missouri State vs. Arkansas State, nobody is watching these. I watched parts of a few bowls on ESPN+ last year and they didn't even run ads, just a billboard that said "Commercial Break."

Oh, I know. I just like to dump on ND.

And I agree, we are oversaturated with bowls.

In 1999 I remember that Illinois was sitting on 6-4, going into a final game at OSU. The conventional wisdom was that Illinois had to win to "guarantee" themselves a bowl game. If they lost to OSU, the thought was that the Big 10 would do some politicking to get a 6-5 Illini team into a bowl.

Turned out moot since Illinois beat OSU (first, and I think to date still only, UI team to beat Michigan, Iowa and Ohio State ON THE ROAD in one season), finished 7-4 and easily got an invitation to the MicronPC.com Bowl.

I'd be fine to return to 15 bowls and needing a winning record to get in. I also don't care about a CFP and wish the ultimate goal of a Big 10 team was to win the Rose Bowl and let some mustard stained, cigar chomping sports writers decide who should be national champion.

I also yell at clouds.

I agree with you on almost everything there except the CFP, I do like it. Would like to see it go to 16 teams.
