On a lighter note, user name checks out. :)

On a more serious note, if a team like the Titans or Bengals wants LaFleur, they can have him. I’m sick of watching Captain Conservative lose one score games.
It is confounding to me that basaccia is still employed. Week after week special teams is a joke. It has been a joke since he got here, and last night was his Mona Lisa.

It looks like William’s passing stats are never going to be terrific, he’s probably never going to go 30 for 37 for 395 yards and 5 tds. However, he’s going to win a lot of games in the fourth quarter for you.
To be fair, his receivers don't do him a lot of favors. The amount of drops by this group is pretty insane for an NFL WR corp. They're leading the league in drops of catchable balls. Zaccheaus dropped a ball yesterday that almost sent my foot through the TV. Moore dropped one that he wasn't expecting, which almost also created a shoe situation.

If you add 2, 3 and sometimes even 4 drops to receptions column, it's a different picture.

Also, as long as the incompletions aren't interceptions....don't care about the percentages. Avoiding turnovers via throwing the ball away and taking an incompletion is always better.... obviously.

It is starting to come together though.

most likely he never will get those league leading passing stats - and it won’t matter if they can win the division 75% if the time .

wind & weather is part of it . maybe a new dome changes that . it also requires a game plan that throws that much . I just don’t see it happening

I don’t think special teams was the biggest issue. Doubs just has to make that play. 3 FGs, didn’t punt a single time in the game. Other things lost you that one

That's exactly right. The wind is blowing cr@p all over the field and Williams steps up and delivers a 55-60 yard dime.

Separately, glad it's moot, but how TF that wasn't pass interference on the Packers defender is beyond me.
I'd be willing to bet that if DJ somehow did not catch that ball, we would have seen a flag. It was a perfect set up for that. Good thing we won't ever find out unless somehow that ref can be interviewed to verify what he would have done..

Yes no doubt, I didn’t say it was, there are many issues. Doubs needs to go grab that ball though, waiting for it to come to you results in exactly what happened. little in between bounce, can’t corral it, turnover. I watch the packers every week, the special teams is a joke every single week and he’s the highest paid special teams coordinator in the league. Red zone offense was terrible last night, even when love was in. Our cornerbacks are awful, without parsons they are gonna continue to get torched. LaFleur continues to have questionable play calling, he’s a great culture head coach but his in game coaching is extremely questionable, especially with the offensive play calling. Tons of issues.

Great win!!!

Not planning to read all of the comments made since kick-off last night --- but I certainly hope that Packer fans aren't complaining. That was just simply an exceptional NFL game with two arch rivals (the two proudest and winningest franchises in NFL history) battling tooth and nail to the end. Tom Brady nailed it.

I was on a 3-hour exhilaration high once DJ caught that pass. It was impossible to sleep afterwards.

If Packer fans really want to complain, let me take them back to 1970's and 1980's football. The Pack had a revolving door at throughout those two decades, with an aging Bart Starr, followed by Scott Hunter, Jerry Tagge, John Hadl, and Lynn Dickey, with others like David Whitehurst, Randy Wright, and "The Majik Man Don Majkowski.

I can still recall those glorious comments echoing down from the north --- "We'll never get a quality QB in Green Bay. And even if we finally do get someone like Johnny Unitas, Bob Griese or Terry Bradshaw, he won't be able to throw in this God awful weather."

Go Bears!!

W-O-W!!!

I watched the entire game and still don't wtf happened. How did that game even go to OT? I thought the Bears were cooked when the Pack kicked the FG to put them up 10 late. HUGE win!
Prior to the onside kick, da Bears were 0.5% to win, according to next gen stats.

its also worth reiterating (iterating (?)), this is his 2nd yr in the league, first with an actual offense that is coherent and hes been asked to significantly change his game (under center vs gun).

last year probably set his development back, this year is ahead of schedule.

his receivers frequently do not help him, like really bad drops. even with that, if this years stats are viewed through the lens of dont turn it over and dont take sacks, then mission accomplished (and thats not including wins).

We stole the game...
The Bears didn't exactly try to not give it away either. 10 penalities for 105 yards, 4 personal foul calls on plays that would have gotten them the ball back, holding calls that eliminated first downs, whatever the heck Johnson called on that 4th and 1 when the Bears O-Line was absolutely blowing Green Bay off the ball and the continued pattern of dropped balls that hit the receivers in the numbers. That's a walk-in TD if Zaccheaus catches a ball that a good HS receiver catches. That ball couldn't have been handed to him any better. It'll be nice to get Odunze and Burden back.

The difference in the game is that the Bears didn't turn the ball over, which has been a staple all year.

Now, the Bears didn't play well on defense. That said, I think Willis is a LOT more difficult to game plan for than Love. Love throws a beautiful ball and puts up a solid QBR, but that run/pass element that Willis bring causes defenses fits. He could and probably will be starting somewhere given the lack of quality QB play around the league.

This has been a HUGE issue all year. The Bears have the most dropped balls in the league and some of these aren't just drops that wipe out a 7 yard completion. They're drops that are wiping out explosive plays.

The Zaccheaus ball yesterday was BRUTAL. The ball that Moore wasn't looking for hit him in the facemask. Last week, Monangai dropped a screen where he had nothing but two blockers and green grass in front of him. That really, really needs to get cleaned up.

His completion percentage is down because he saves his offensive line sacks with his ability to escape doom, then just throw it away. I think he's getting more aggressive now(which is a good thing) and isn't automatically defaulting to throwing the ball away. That's a byproduct of gaining experience and growing confidence. He's delivering balls where he might be the only QB in the league can throw. That last TD pass.....I'm guessing only he and Josh Allen have the ability to make that throw.

The other thing is that all completion percentages aren't created equal. There's an incomplete pass that's thrown out of bounds and there's an incomplete pass that hits the safety in the chest. I'll take 56% and no picks vs 67% and two picks. Ultimately, winning the turnover battle has the Bears in position to win these games. Late in games, when he HAS to make a play.....that guy just delivers. It's gotten to the point to where if the Bears have the ball last and they don't score, it's a shock.

I take the lower percentages with a grain of salt, as long as turnovers aren't associated with it.

Caleb starting to remind me of 80s John Elway with all these 4th quarter comebacks. Wow.
it is indeed a.rare trait to have the ability both physically , but more important mentally , to get things accomplished under great pressure.

it’s something Elway did & Mahomes does . Aaron Rodgers does . it’s not luck when you can do it repeatedly. I’m a believer in the lad . it’s fun when it’s a guy on your team . we’ve waited many many years for an A+ quarterback . we finally have one .
