I do see a lot of regression in his game compared to last year.
To be fair to Tomi, this isn’t regression. He definitely had some totally awful nights last year. We just chalked it up to him being sick.

It’s not so much regression to me as it is complacency and not taking the next step with his game. I’m very confident he’ll have games where he’s spectacular and more games where he’s terrible bc that’s just who he is as a player. I was just hoping this year he was going to take a step that he clearly just hasn’t.

Tomi doesn't have KJ to penetrate the lane and set him up. The offense this year is designed for him to shoot 3's on a pick and pop. How many passes in 14 games have you seen to him or Z in the lane.

Really have no idea what else staff needs to see to start Z over Tomi.

CLEARLY been the reliable option. I continue to be impressed. 5BLK, 10REB.
And came right back out at half with Tomi letting Penn St right back in the game. It is allowable to have a different 5 players in to start the second half if I'm not mistaken. And anybody with one good eye could see Z was the better option tonight, as he has been most of the season. Head scratching to say the least.

He’s cleared to play … No excuses …

He’s soft & lazy …
I'd like to believe that the Tomi from last year is still there. After a quick Google search, here's another excuse ;)
Yes, while most people recover from mono in a few weeks, significant fatigue and other symptoms can linger for several months, and in some cases, symptoms can last for six months or longer, with some people experiencing long-term issues like chronic fatigue or a condition called chronic active EBV (CAEBV), which can last for years. The virus (Epstein-Barr Virus, or EBV) stays in your body for life, but usually becomes dormant, though rare cases of reactivation can cause prolonged illness

This isn’t just calling you out … It’s calling out this whole attitude in general …

These dudes are making 7 figures plus … These aren’t kids … These are professionals who are paid to do a job …

And it’s not just an organization paying these guys … It’s your friend, your neighbor, your co worker … People who work hard and decide to take that hard earned money and give it to the program to field a better team …

If the guys receiving that money aren’t playing to the standard … Deserves to be called out …

And I don’t understand why everyone is so against people doing it … Back when it was the back door payments, sure we can play pretend that these guys aren’t getting anything and are still kids … Not the case anymore …
Dang, it is a Big Boy game now, I forget that watching college basketball

I’m not as concerned as most of you are and that may be me having worse judgment. Here’s why:

1. End to end victory, and the win was never in doubt. We controlled the game.

2. Wagler was sidelined for a critical mass of that game. Still didn’t feel PSU was a serious threat to win.

3. PSU was playing extremely physical (ahem… hacking). It’s hard to maintain a rhythm when there is so much contact. It gummed things up. The game was still never in question.

4. We were getting a lot of rebounds at critical times and the defense looked good. That travels well and transfers whether you play good teams or bad.

All that are yet to be determined, but so far I am left with a lot of head scratching games so far…I also see him passing up a lot of wide open shots that he was taking last year.

For the 26th year in a row. But, hey, we will have 10 teams in the dance. Whoopeeee!!!!
That's the worst part. Any representation we have in the Final Four/Championship ends up choking! It truly is sad...

We seemed to be the softer team tonight - a lot of wide open shots missed by the Lions certainly helped. Cannot be a one-trick pony in this league so some other dudes need to step up and impact winning.

Was he soft and lazy last year? He was still making good coin. What's changed?
