High Knees at MSU vs USC. God speed to all watching lol Elite jersey matchup with both of them wearing their respective Spartan/Trojan logo on the front of their jerseys. Not my favorite jerseys overall but I think wearing them against each other is elite

Man is Nb about the luckiest team in America. They could be 0-4 in the BT.
Husker fan here...we beat Wisconsin by 30? We were lucky?

At some point the opposing fan bases will realize we're actually pretty good instead of just repeating "they're not actually that good".

I'm not saying we're Michigan good, but we definitely belong squarely in the top 5 of the conference.

The worst call you'll legitimately ever see leads to Oregon three. Tie game
Refs let an awful Oregon team tie it to OT.
Tire them out, ducks!
long haired dude with big bald spot for Oregon can play a little but looks weird doing it

Right now, Nebraska is riding a high. They can't do anything wrong. The question for them will be once the first loss comes, how do they bounce back? It's all great until that first punch in the face comes. They have 16 conference games to go. Let it play out. Indiana fans were pitching the same fit last year in football.

Edit - I put Nebraska in the same boat with Vanderbilt. Let's see how it all plays out.

Yeah, if you like watching two teams who don't want to win play each other LOL
and I root for Rutgers because my daughter got her very valuable CS degree from them.

Definitely top 6 at absolute worst. I do not look forward to playing you guys in Lincoln. Such a great environment even when the team isn’t great. Schedule is pretty light coming up and could start 20-0 going into the Michigan game. I posted earlier KenPom has you as the 26th luckiest team in the country. Gonzaga is the only other top 50 team(30th) currently in the top 25. KenPom has you 21 overall in metrics which I find pretty accurate. I think you have 5 wins by 6 points or less and 4 of them by one possession-I think that’s what gets baked into the luck rating. Basically if all 5 games get played again, you’re probably going 3-2 and ranked around 20 instead of 10. But this is why we play because your team plays very smart and calm in those “clutch time” minutes.

This is spot on. As a Bears fan, we're in the same boat. We're 11-6 and the #2 seed, but we had about 6 wins that could have EASILY gone the other direction. It's probably a team that should be 9-8. I put Nebraska basketball in the same realm right now. It's a good team that's finding ways to win right now. Nothing wrong that. Is it sustainable? Time will tell.

You beat Oklahoma by 6, Illinois on a last second buzzer beater by 3, K-State on a last second foul call by 1, MSU by 2, and OSU by 3. That's 4-0 in games of 3 points or less and 5-0 in games of 6 points or less. You also beat powerhouses Winthrop by 7 and something called USC Upstate by 9.

Are you good? Absolutely. Are you a top 25 team? Most probably, yes. Do I super cockily look forward to seeing you guys in Lincoln? Absolutely not.

It's also okay to recognize that without what's referred to as the "luck metric".... would you be #10 and 15-0? Most probably not. It's kind of like our football team two seasons ago where we went 10-3.

Nebraska also doesn't have anything near the non-conference gauntlet that Illinois had.

That's a pretty fair take.

I get some of it. We have some really good players (Mast / Sandfort) but nobody like Brice last year that's going to lead the league in scoring. We start 4 white guys for crying out loud. They just play good freaking basketball. Nobody is selfish, tenacious defense, and really take care of the ball. That's going to win you a few.

But...we're 8-0 vs Q1 and Q2. It's not like we're just beating a bunch of parochial schools here.

BTW, yesterday I believe we were underdogs to @Indiana who's up next (and tOSU was favored today), who knows what it will be by tipoff.

You are correct about our home court though. Even in years we weren't very good, we still seemed to protect home court well. We have some weirdly good home records against some good B1G teams.

I just hope we finally kick the tourney curse. I was 13 and a HUGE fan in 91 when we went into the tournament as a 3 seed and lost. F.

We've only had 9 appearances ever. 0-9. Been the higher seed for a few of those too.

If Nebraska had to go through UConn, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas Tech out of conference - they would not be 15-0. Add in the one score games, single digit games against low major teams, and everything else statistically taken into account... it's what adds up to the metrics significantly more in favor of Illinois.

It's not as clear cut as "Nebraska went into Champaign, shot an insane 46% from 3, won on a 25-foot buzzer beater so they're better than Illinois." Some think it is, but it's not.

Don't forget Alabama.

The Mast blocked and then bricked point blank layup that led to a scramble Sandfort wide open 3 tonight was funny.

Yeah... there were people here acting like we lost for winning @Penn State by 8. I can't imagine this board if we beat Winthrop by 7 lol.

My honest, unbiased opinion on this: I think Nebraska has the better resume up to this point. But I think Illinois is the more talented team, and the better team. What I mean by "better" is who is more likely to win on a neutral court right here, right now. In a best of seven, is Nebraska really the more likely team to win? I know they came into our house and won, but truth is Illinois wins that game more times than not.

The end of my paragraph above is pretty much everything predictive metrics like Kenpom are about.

In all honesty, I appreciate fans of other schools coming on and expressing their views, as long as they aren't obnoxious/insulting. FWIW, it was also the exact argument of the naysayer posters after the PSU game - we shouldn't be ranked so high in Kenpom, Nebraska should be ahead of us, etc, etc.
