I get some of this is scheme fit. But one thing I like about the portal… sometimes coaches are just wrong on who to play.

This is why efforts and performance are very important in practices, because both personnel and playtime are mainly decided during practices.

The whole TE thing reminds me of the basketball offense argument….our passing game is really good going through the WR….

it will be interesting to see how true frosh D Grant is deployed. his frame can carry a lot more mass. he might get on the field quicker as a pass catching TE

This is starting to feel like a minutes discussion on the bball side but I hope there are enough snaps/opportunities to keep Trimble/Rankin satisfied. I know you have to earn your spot but I really want to be able to see some of those local stars pay off for us.

Look man, I also went into the 2025 season thinking our RB room was pretty good

But I watched every game and I'm just confused as to why we haven't brought in anybody from the portal at that position. I guess we'll see something from these guys next year that we didn't see this year.

I think Valentine really started to show something by the end of the year and definitely in the bowl game. I would expect him to step up and be a difference maker.

Still over a week left for entries — but I’m a bit surprised none of the three backs have transferred. I think Valentine is one you absolutely don’t want to lose, but all three coming back didn’t seem most likely to me.

My thought is we at least need blocking tight ends even if they don't have receiving chops.
