Massive quad 1 win, did a lot of great things- always seemed to respond. Let's clean up that transition defense and get new Big Ten officials and we'll be alright
Players kept their composure throughout, despite obvious adversity from a lot of different directions. Just give KW all big ten first team and newcomer of the year honors now. Kid is for real!
have to downgrade hook and hold from a flagrant. astute players/coaches are exploiting it in late game situations because it’s very easy for a player to make it look like they got hooked (although that iowa player didn’t even do a great job at it)
Didn’t finish like we hoped, but a win at CHA is a signature win none the less.
Love the fact that the Iowa fans were miserable they were getting blown out at home.
Then their hopes were sky high with a comeback only to be crushed with the Beloved hanging on to win having led the entire game. Having their hopes crushed in their own arena could not have happened to a more deserving program and fanbase.
Solid, solid road win.
I L L . . .
What a pleasure it is to watch a good Illini team take down a hated rival in their arena in front of a hostile crowd. That's what college sports is all about, never take that for granted.
Just want to point out, alot of "why is Ben in at the end of the game?" He played good defense at the end and helped us close it out. He has really taken a back seat on offense and limited his attempts (which is what you all wanted btw) but has been really valuable this season in other ways. Good role player this year.
Great job by our guys! Although Iowa made their runs, it felt like the Illini controlled the entire game from start to finish as we would like to see against a pretty good Iowa team on the road. Wagler just makes it look so effortless out there. Good balance from our top 6 guys
