Looking forward to watching the replay as I am in the office all day. Big road win, takes some of the sting out of biffing it against Nebraska.

Iowa is a hard team to prepare for, particularly on short prep time.

The legend of Keaton Wagler just grew today. He really is a calming influence on this team, facilitates, and makes clutch shots. Just love him. Needs three more years here to add strength and learn the finer points of defense. :)

Wagler is just something else. Never seen a kid so smooth and confident as a freshman. Always keeps his cool and rarely makes mistakes. Kid is going to have a long career at the next level. So happy we got him for a year.

It really was for most of the game. Which makes the calls at the end even worse. I get there's going to be variation from game to game in how things are called but you HAVE to be consistent within a game.
I think one thing that needs to be consistent is if a guy gets bumped strong enough while getting a rebound in the air and falls down, you really can't call a travel. That would be nice.

Also, B1G you are making TONS of money. Please pay your refs full time pay so they can work on their craft all year long without any need for side hustles.

Clearly, we were lucky to get the win since the announcers mentioned 37 times how all of the Iowa players were sick. While I’m not thrilled with relinquishing the big lead, there was a lot to like about the way we showed up, played as a team, and persevered through some late game adversity. Beat a ranked conference foe on the road and that is never easy!

Hopefully someone in the media has some nuts to ask why wasn't Z in from the 10:49 mark up until the final 1:15 mark.

In the final 1:15 Z causes missed Stirtz layup and blocked a Stirtz 3.

BTW Illiinois was up 58-43 when Z left at the 10:49 mark.........and 69-65 when he returned at the 1:15 mark.

People may disagree, but Z is no worse than the 3rd most important player on the team. Illinois has no rim protection without him and Tomi moving in quicksand.

Good win. Game had no business being as close as it was.

Refs let some fouls go at the end, but at the same time BigZ was going down because he was expecting foul calls and in the wagler call, if there is a hook refs will usually call it even without a hold. Either way Iowa tightened up defensively and made it a challenge, but a bunch of guys made big plays at the end on our side. Our team is resilient and even when runs are made they just keep going. Really really good sign.

Who here thought we'd go into Iowa and not trail for one second? Answer......none of us.

It's a home game for them, they made a hard push, for anyone over 20......this is expected. That's why winning on the road is incredibly hard and why quad 1 wins are assigned, even when you beat a team that will be teetering with a lower seed.

Relax, take the W and understand that this was a huge challenge and they answered the bell.

Nine point lead with 7:25 left, we proceeded to allow 4! dunks, a layup, 4 Ft's, and a jumper. All while Z was on the bench. Those were the only 4 dunks in the game for Iowa.

My question is, what is the thinking there? Ben plays pretty good D, but he can't jump. Z is an elite rim protector. What am I missing.

Where is Indy at? Dude, you're one of the four most in tune, in depth and valued posters here. We all love ya, but you need to chill during these games. I hope you don't own any firearms. Nobody is immune from your wrath in tight games. Relax brother, we're good!
