There is no good reason to lose this game but they play us tough at home, and the refs especially seem to love them in Evanston against us too. I expect a win here that's gonna be tougher than it should be on paper.

I don’t think you fact-checked yourself before writing this. In 2019-20, Northwestern went 3-17 in conference and 8-23 overall. Highly unlikely they’ll be that bad.
Northwestern has the lowest turnover rate in the country offensively.
Idk man, they’ve been competitive in all their games and were leading MSU at halftime on the road.

And a top 50'sh team can absolutely pull some upsets, especially at home.
Missouri is #58 and they've beaten #12 Florida and #28 Kentucky.
West Virgina is #60 and they just beat #23 Kansas.
TCU is #52 and they came within a hair of #1 Michigan, losing by just 4, even though Michigan beats everyone else by 40.
