Hard to believe this program exists, but yet it does.... Link - 50% state tax credit for UConn athletic donations.

Subject to $5M annual cap and donors of less than $5,000 are not eligible. Pretty crazy use of taxpayer $, but makes fundraising pretty easy for UConn.

Interesting. Can’t say I’d be particularly happy as a taxpayer with that, esp given it’s only available to $5k+ “donations”. I put donations in quotes because I also find it very interesting things like sponsorship deals (and perhaps NIL deals?) are included. Those are already likely pre-tax items for the businesses funding them and have an associated ROI to them. But now going to get a tax credit on top of it
