If the guy we landed is the new gentle hunt, I love the move. If we are wanting him to play starter level snaps that’s worrisome. The Washington brothers aren’t needle movers either. Where are we gonna replace the pass rusher production?

Hoping the staff can piece something together. And I do trust Jamo on the NG position. But man… playing with fire right now

Partial to a couple needle movers...but I need to remember...never pass pie when pie is passin...

I hear you. But if you gotta rely on freshman in the big ten on the lines. You already got issues. That said… hoping Cameron Brooke’s is a guy. Maybe John or White had a good offseason. But there is no way any of those guys should start the season on the two deep.

Plenty of quality edge rushers left. Interior DL gets more obscure and unproven, but really all we need is large freak strong bodies that can eat two OL blocks and clog gaps.

The DL is concerning right now, but I trust jaymo and staff to get the job done. Look what he has done with conen, hunt, daxon etc

I think you are underselling Jayvon, UW thought he was going to be a starter and one of their best DL this year before he got hurt. They both have been though a lot of injuries so that is a wild card no doubt, but if they are healthy, Jayvon in particular will be a difference maker

as do I (and every Illini fan). this is exactly the kind of recruitment that we should aspire to. Lopati strikes me as ultra stable and the antithesis of a bag chaser. as long as Art & Barry are here and our bag is competitive, I think we're good (operative word being think, lol)

I love the pic w/Kylan. That guy bleeds O&B and is climbing my list of all-time fave Illini.

Anyway, not like I'm putting too much into it, but it sure is nice to hear his wording of "future Illini teammates..." The recruiting battle will continue as he really is that good, but I think we're in the best shape we could be in at this point.

After the last 4 years, I'm confident our program values the QB position. I would expect we can retain this easier than say a Singleton
