If you knew how much he was making … The takes on AS shouldn’t surprise you …
The problem I see AS is not necessarily him being poor offensively. It is that we almost don't need him to be our top five scoring options. Is that an AS problem or a coach problem? It is certainly easier to defend him considering his poor 3pt% but honestly that's not a surprise to me.

He’s making less than Sarr and Ian Jackson would we rather have one of them?

On a night where he played 21 min had 7 points 3 asst, 2 rebounds and 0 turnovers we’re complaining about him?

IMO he’s done a great job sacrificing his game for the good of the team since the early part of the season. He’s one of the most efficient guards in the country scoring at the rim, we don’t need him to be the scorer we thought we did to begin the year because of Wagler. So we’re not going though Andrej anymore which is good for the team, but I don’t see that as an Andrej deficiency, I think he’s accepting his role well

Today also wasn't a good matchup for him. Minny played so much zone which 1) limits his ability to thrive as a downhill player and 2) plays to his three point shooting, which is a weakness (and he did make 1/2 of his threes).

On a night like tonight, you don't need him to have 25pts with the amount of talent we have. I think he bounces back fine, and has done a very nice job of accepting his role.

He didn't have an awful game either. 3 assists to 0 turnovers -- I'd take that every night from him.

Not saying Andrej is an outright bust, but I'm not a fan of "our bust is better than their bust so it could be worse" arguments. There will always be guys who are underpaid, overpaid, and paid correctly. Andrej falls into the overpaid bucket. If you need a "well who would you rather be here"... we already had him, his name was Tre White and for whatever reason he ended up in the doghouse.

And yeah, I think people can complain about a guy who was a -9 at one point and ended a -2 in a 10-point win.

as an nba fan, I learned awhile ago not to evaluate players based on their pay.

I love the Banks dude on Iowa, he might get paid $5 million for all I know. would that be an overpay? Ya probably (even then, what value am I attaching that too to measure?).

But all I know is he’s a good player I want on my team. I’d drive myself crazy adjusting my view on players based on if they’re above, below, or right at value. And value = what exactly?

Wagler doesn'tjust knock down threes, he hits deep threes. I'd bet some of those are 25 feet. Glad to see Petrovic get some minutes and highlight minutes. He absolutely oozes PG mentality.

Petrovic absolutely needs to be playing more. This team could thrive with a "true" facilitator. I don't know whose minutes he would take, but when he's out there I feel confident. How many teams can have a player that talented and court savvy on the bench?

At this point, and this is a GREAT problem to have… our quote unquote “stars” are all going to have bad nights. Just when someone else is cooking (Z, Mirk, Tomi, Keaton yesterday) the other guys just need to rebound and defend as hard as they can. Some nights it’ll still be Andrej & Kylan & Keaton.. some nights it’ll be Tomi & Mirk & Jake will hit 3 3’s.. some nights it’ll be Mirk Keaton & Kylan…. Just figure out which actions are working for certain guys and let them cook. Find the hot hand. Stay unselfish & play hard and we can achieve all of our goals.

Yes Andrej has strung 2 bad games in a row… but just last weekend he was a HUGE part of our double digit first half lead at Iowa… it’s a game by game thing because literally anyone we throw on the floor can have a big night and play big in their given role.

Every one playing at the time one guy scores 9 straight points is -nine for that time. Very poor gage to how an individual is playing.

Watching the game yesterday made me realize we have two NBA prospects. Everyone agrees on Keaton. Big Z is the other.

Not saying he is ready now, but he is getting there. With his height and wingspan and mobility he has meets the mark. He can knock down 3s and pass. He needs to get stronger, especially his base. Looks like at minimum a limited minutes big in NBA.
