KW for one. I love Wagler but playing him 36-38 minutes a game is not smart. He could hit a wall on a tolling B1G schedule. I love Waglers game ands what he brings, but he needs a break. Petro can get 10 minutes easily by taking 3-4 for Wagler, 3-4 from Boz and a a few from AS. I do not believe this would hurt us at all. Playing 9 will keep us fresh the rest of the seasonPetrovic absolutely needs to be playing more. This team could thrive with a "true" facilitator. I don't know whose minutes he would take, but when he's out there I feel confident. How many teams can have a player that talented and court savvy on the bench?
It is crazy that they have a top 5 offense yet most of us see potential for it to be better.
According to ESPN, Wagler and Boz are both averaging just under 32 mpg. As good as they are for us, I don't think you want to pair that back.KW for one. I really think that he has to play ONLY when Wagler is taking a break. They both need to have the ball in their hands. Wagler just seemed out of place when he was in with Petro yesterday. However, they haven't had much experience playing together, so it may get better.According to ESPN, Wagler and Boz are both averaging just under 32 mpg. I would love to see more of Petro as I think he can be a really good PG, but realistically it's hard to see where his minutes would come from.
I just went off their individual stats/BPR values, but I admit I have not watched Kansas this year. I also admit that we would need Tre White's buy-in, which is far from guaranteed. That being said, purely from basketball I think White has him beat this year. Evamiya has Tre White at 6.18. Andrej is at 3.94.This is really the only important part for me. I’m not paying the salaries and you can’t just go adjust everyone’s pay after every single game they play based on that performance. Wagler probably deserves more money but what am I supposed to do about that?
Also, we want Tre White instead? He is no longer here because he was a bad apple last year and refused to do what Andrej is doing (concede usage and shot attempts to be on an actual good team). He now plays for an unranked Kansas team. He just played very poorly on Friday night (far worse than Andrej’s “bad game” which wasn’t a bad game in any sense, he just didn’t put up a ton of shots is all) and I’d bet his season +/- is far worse if we want to go that route.
Saying how he always turns it over and never passes, but look at the box score, he had 3 assists and zero turnovers so color me confused why that is brought up now and not after a game when he actually did the thing that’s being complained about.

I hope the Illini are seeing potential to be the best offense in the nation. Never stop improving. It is crazy that they have a top 5 offense yet most of us see potential for it to be better.

Going off stats-
White:
GP GS MIN FG FG% 3PT 3P% FT FT% OR DR REB AST BLK STL PF TO PTS 18 18 31.8 4.5-9.4 47.6 1.7-4.1 42.5 4.2-4.9 84.3 2.2 4.9 7.1 2.1 0.5 0.9 2.2 1.9 14.9
Andrej:
GP GS MIN FG FG% 3PT 3P% FT FT% OR DR REB AST BLK STL PF TO PTS 17 15 26.0 5.4-10.4 51.4 0.6-2.8 23.4 2.1-2.6 80.0 1.4 3.0 4.4 1.1 0.6 0.4 1.2 1.6 13.5
Yeah that's a good call-out. I think a lot would be predicated on if White could accept his role on our team, and judging from last year he probably would not.I like Tre as a player too.
I wonder how much different his scoring and rebounding numbers would look in Andrej’s role on our team. Doubt he is more than our 3rd option on offense. He looks to have improved the 3 point shot immensely but see if that percentage normalizes (he just went 0-4). He takes a lot of inefficient midrange shots. He is the 2nd leading rebounder on a very poor overall rebounding team (Kansas in bottom half of NCAA in rebound rate and margin).
As far as either being overpaid, I think salary inconsistency is something that occurs pretty regularly. Some guys live up to their contracts more than others and you’ll have kids that way overperform too. Just how it goes, idk.
But lately, Wagler is around 36-38 minutes a game. I hope he does not run into a wall as the conference games are draining.According to ESPN, Wagler and Boz are both averaging just under 32 mpg. As good as they are for us, I don't think you want to pair that back.
I would love to see more of Petro as I think he can be a really good PG, but realistically it's hard to see where his minutes would come from.
Are you sure this is points per possession? Because under “last 1” it says 1.228.Welp,
Illinois is now #1:

(I think it just updated because mine says 1/18/2026 and yours said 1/17/2026)

Are you sure this is points per possession? Because under “last 1” it says 1.228.
But against Minnesota we averaged 1.275 points per possession:

Thanks. I’ve always wondered what the formula wasThere are different ways it is calculated, but primarily its FGA + TOV - OREB + (0.44 x FTA)
Which would result in 60.36 as he said... so teamrankings.com must be calculating it slightly differently

I love kylan. bam looked like he had a night at Kam's. honestly it was great to see him pulled. the standard is the standard. of all people, he is the example he clearly was not there. And that's the point. On a typical afternoon, you're not taking KB or Wagler off the court. Those are literally your two best players.
What happened yesterday was Bam got benched for his play in the first half and we needed that spark.
I do agree he could be used when one of our duo takes a breather. However, he still needs to earn the trust in a limited minutes role -- not turning the ball over, holding up defensively and on the glass. Yesterday was a step in the right direction.
uhh that seems horrible. we are Illini and had our own level of adversity....I literally joked preseason that Purdue had stumbled into all Americans from 3 and 4 stars and when it was gonna be our time. it's now.In an alternate universe where Keaton suits up for Minnesota instead, I wonder how this game would’ve played out?
