All of that...and more, in one dream?

Downey 53 @ Indinia
Wagler 46 @ Purdue
BP3 43 home v Ohio State

That's the second greatest individual performance in Illinois basketball history. By a barely recruited 18 y/o freshman.

Absolute pinnacle of basketball insanity.

Edit: Kauffman 46 was at home vs Wisconsin Milwaukee. Yawn./s
I was going to mention BP’s 40 against Ohio State that was an awesome game. That was at home by an upper classman though. This was just astonishing! By a true freshman!! He continues to amaze.!!

Ed Cooley gonna get canned in a year or two. He's not getting the job done when rebuilds can be executed quickly as seen by a number of programs

You could see he had some words for that Purdue that talked trash early on.

First Tomi breaking the guitar...now David throwing chairs and breaking boards....our Slavic players have some crazy energy but that's what we need. David is probably the closest thing I've seen to Lucas Johnson yet he has been pretty tame in games compared to what I thought he'd be like

If there is some high school kid in America, shooting lights out on his farm with a peach basket nailed to the barn and an underinflated ball with the tread worn off, Tyler will find him and Brad will suit him up. Keaton may be the best diamond in the rough find by any coaching staff ever in the history of college basketball.

Boy do I hate bringing this up now, but Zach Edey was ranked #436. But enough of that, back to the Illini

Watched Purdue's postgame press videos. Man are they dejected. Players said very little other than we got beat.

Painter said, I look at the stat sheet, we shot 57%, 37% from 3, 82% from the line, and turn it over 3 times. That's a win.
Until I look at the rebounding. And of course Wagler.

Fun fact, Keaton had no rebounds - do better! 😉

Painter: Weare going to switch 1-5, which we never do, and take away Illini’s pick and pop 3s, and we’re going to make Keaton Wagler beat us by homself

Keaton: Okay.

I said during the game thread that they should've abandoned the whole switching 1-5... it seemed like we basically found a way to put Cluff on Keaton every possession in the 1H

Huge shoutout to Tomi. He's been hitting timely threes late down the stretch in a couple of games now.
With about five minutes to go, I was muttering to myself that he's been disappointing this year. He came on strong when it mattered, though.
