This was a huge momentum play!
After Bam went down, A lot of fans, including myself, chalked up games against Purdue, Nebraska as losses. Boy am I glad we were all wrong...Coaching deserves a lot of credit and Wagler has been sensational.. I am convinced we have a better than 50% chance of running the table and winning the BIG outright before tournament time...Just Wow!
Illini playing this well with Boswell out is going to pay dividends once he returns. I'm not sure anyone other than the coaches/players would've thought they would've beaten 2 top 10 teams on the road since Boswell went out. Wagler just does it so effortlessly that you can see why he is going to be a lottery pick. They kept talking about how KJ or Will Riley could be lottery picks and Wagler blows both of them out of the water.

Keaton put us on his shoulders once again, awesome second half. Jake with another solid game and the twins did just enough to keep it rolling. Mirk is just a machine that just keeps putting up stats and even though Ben's shot wasn't falling he played solid defense as did Andre. They should have given Ben's block on Mast late in the game a replay to give him some props.
don't forget the slap on his head, then the dangerous pull-down. Like you I have no idea what that rule means.

We are halfway through the gauntlet of elite B10 teams (Purdue, Nebby, MSU, and Michigan}, and at this point I think it is really between us and Michigan for the league regular season title. From what I've seen, we are the best team, especially with Bos coming back and playing Michigan on our home court. We've had some excellent teams under Brad, but I think this one is his deepest, most talented overall, most unselfish, and most fun to coach. We are fighting our way to a 1 seed come tourney time, it's a great time to be an Illini fan.

Its interesting I thought he was actually pressing a bit to start the game and was struggling. Maybe it was having his family/friends be there that made him want to do something big. But in typical Keaton fashion he settled right down and went back to playing his game.

It will take a few games to get him back to game shape. He'll rotate heavily with Jake and Andrej is my guess.
That was just such a strange game to me. We've had so many games where we blitz a team from three, or we keep a good player down, or we get a strong game from Ben offensively. I don't feel like we did any of that, today, and we absolutely locked down that game in the final five minutes. Against a top five team on the road!

Get ready for more questions if we are “better” without Boswell. Illini fans do not take the bait. We all know this team can reach another gear with Kylan out there. Just turns out we are crazy good still while he is on the mend. Great composure by the team today! Rooting for this team is an absolute joy!
