This is it fellas, this is the real thing.

Our height and rebounding ability, particularly on the offensive end, shooting 1-5, unselfish high level passing, and ability to avoid fouling on defense, we just crack teams in half the moment they aren't hitting all of their shots, it's just so hard to score more points than us over a 40 minute span.

Long season, things can change, but this is championship level basketball we're playing right now.
Yes.

Tonight. Tomorrow morning. Every day this week. Every. Moment.

Savor it. Bask in it. REVEL in it. This is something truly special we've seen coalesce in front of us. It was a January to remember. Drink it up, brothers and sisters. Drink deep. This alchemy doesn't come along often.

Punchabove33, you re-invented yourself as a poster on Loyalty….but you don’t make any sense.

There was a period we had 7-2, 7-1, 6-9, 6-9, and 6-7 on the court that could do this. That has to be frustrating for the opponent.

OK, so Ben Humrichous did not have a good shooting night.

But he still played well on defense, got 2 blocked shots, and made some good passes.

He made a significant contribution to the win.

It could have been much better for the Illini if just a few of his 3-pointers hit, but his shots will fall in future games.

We'll need Ben in the season's home stretch.
One of his blocks was against Sanford at the end of the half. The way he was shooting. He probably would have made it.

Man, I’d love another chance at UConn. First, because that possibly means we are in the Final Four. Second, because I’d love to see us play like we are playing now against them.

We just did not play well in that game.

I really hope he is getting some $!! He deserves it. Probably setting up for a nice payday next year though.

I was really impressed with the inside scoring with the twins and David. If it's there, then take it. They have the potential to light it up at the hole.

What a huge difference from the home game with Nebraska--give this staff a ton of credit for the adjustments and instilling an attitude in this team.

They have proven they can do it. Now, let's just do it.

Kylan has been a consummate professional and team player for us since he has been here. There is absolutely 0% chance he disrupts team chemistry when he gets back. Might it take him a few games to get back into playing shape and trust his hand? Sure. But pouting because Keaton is killing and not accepting that? Come on, man... Kylan ain't Skyy. He wants a natty. And he ain't going to be some role player, he'll be starting.

I swear, winning big games makes people start losing their minds about how the bottom is going to fall out.
I don't think that anyone is saying he's going to sulk, but his role between when he got hurt and now has to be different. You don't want to take away from ANYTHING that Keaton is doing and you really don't want to eat into Jake's minutes because he's been lights out.

Of course it's going to disrupt chemistry. It's silly to not accept that. The team/rotations/roles are totally different from what they were five games ago and when Kylan comes back, the roles will change again. That doesn't mean we won't be better with him back, but minutes have to be altered for a second time. Who gets trimmed back? Is it Kylan's that gets trimmed back? Jack is a perfect role player in this lineup, is it his minutes? Do we play less of the towers together? Does Drej get his minutes/role changed?

It's not about anyone crying or complaining, it is recognizing that you have a team operating at an extremely high level right now. How do keep that going when you're reimplementing a guy who plays 30+ minutes? They have to come from somewhere.

It's going to be really interesting because I can guarantee you that this is going to weigh on Brad's mind as the time gets closer.

After thinking about the free throw discrepancy, their offense was basically launch 3s or flail some anxiety-induced shot up because Z was out there. It’s no wonder they didn’t shoot a ton of foul shots.
When Z is on the court, he completely wrecks opponents gameplans inside the arc. Nebraska tried testing him early but realized they wanted absolutely none of that Dikembe action. Nebraska's offensive efficiency when challenging Z tonight was something on the order of 3pts on over 10 attempts.

This season, when Z has been on the court, opponents average under 58pts per 40minutes! He is Top 10 in the nation in adjusted defensive efficiency when on court! Those are astounding numbers that will improve even more after today's game.

I was high on him preseason and he has blown away all expectations. He's been absolutely phenomenal for us and credit to the coaches for utilizing him in a much better way than Cal did and mixing in zone where he absolutely flourishes. Kid has been a great one.
