we need to accept we will never be winners if it’s all about the bag . there will always be 3-5 schools in our league and about 10-12 in the SEC who will pay more .
we need to use other things . it’s not always about money for everyone .
I am sure Wheatley knows what his main duties will be here - Chicago ,Michigan, Ohio & Florida

This could actually be the worst staff recruiting wise since Bret has been here. Bunch of old guys who got no energy to hit the trail or have landed big time players. If i am Art, i am walking into Bret's office asking for another raise.

Perhaps "and I'm just spiffballing here" we are going to run the ball a bit more next year than we did the past 3 years. Perhaps having an RB coach who has been both a star at the position and head coach will help all three retuning RBs (I am assuming Jordan Anderson becomes the short yardage back and he will be damn good at it).
Perhaps the new defensive scheme is designed to fit a more ball control offense and keep us out of the bottom 5 in the conference on third down conversions. One thing is for certin, Durojaiye, Hood, Hayden, Karriem are all no longer with the program for similar reasons. 3 of them can't handle MTM cover. Three others can't tackle.
So, while your suggestion has absolutely nothing to do with whatever scheme we run next year, nor the quality of the coches hired (who have all achieved quite a bit in their careers, I fail to see the correlation between their hire and Art Sitkowski. Also I am certain you have no idea what the comp scheme is for the coaching staff.

That is a crazy opinion or assumption based on what? Nobody on the most recent coaching staff were great recruiters. It's all about NIL. If those coaches were good recruiters they would have been poached a long time ago and Bielema would have kept them on the staff. Some of the new coaches have played in the NFL, coached in the NFL and were good recruiters on teams such as Michigan and USC. All of them great recruits who went to Alabama had no problem playing for and old white man in Nick Saban. You are giving Art way too much credit. If he was really that good other colleges especially Rutgers, Penn St., Boston College would have offered him way more many and a new position to be on staff. Sit back and let Bielema cook.

I'm not hanging my hat on Wheatley's head coaching experience. He cratered two separate programs. Let's just hope he's a million miles better as a RB coach than as a head coach.
I mean it’s a light staff for sure. Hoping the NIL is that mattes.

I was in Memorial Stadium watching Illinois get plastered by Michigan. The field looked bigger when Michigan had the ball. The game was not at all good for the beloved Orange & Blue. I hung in 'till the end of the game, though.
Some time in the 4th quarter, Michigan put in a freshman running back. The dude was a beast. I couldn't believe how good he was. With the young running back in the lineup, Michigan just kept plastering the Illini.
Yes, that young Michigan running back was Tyrone Wheatley. I don't remember the final score, the year the game was played (but from Mr. Wheatley's time-line in college, it was likely 1991), or many other details of the game. But I never forgot the name of that young Michigan running back.

I really dont know how much a rb coach is going to play calling on offense since we have established oc but I like the hire we could of done worse.i really hope he can help bring myson-cook to THE ILL

Obviously he’s a bad head coach but he’s had success as a RB coach. The one positive from his Wayne state days is the relationships he’s developed in recruiting.
It’ll be interesting to see where Cooper and Bradford recruit.
