Generally like this... although I worry there might be too many cooks/egos in the kitchen ? ? If they all are clear on who (whom?) is the head chef, then I think its a positive...

I think too much is being made out of the Defensive Line Coach. Go study the 3–3-5 defense . I think the legendary Jamison is overrated as well. He sucked on the recruiting trail. What 4 star or 5 star high school or Transfer Portal Defensive lineman did he get as the defensive lineman coach at Illinois? I’ll wait for my answer. Jamison was a good developer of Defensive lineman but let’s not act like he’s the only coach in the country that can develop defensive linemen. Best defensive lineman and players in the Bret Bielema Tenure as the Illinois head football coach were all Lovie Smith recruits. It is what it is. Not hating on Bret . I love Bret

Hear you. However, being a head coach (particularly in college footbal) requires a completely different skill set than being a position coach. Once you have experience as a head coach, how you deal with the players in your room, the players who aren't in your room and film (game prep) staff and other coaches changes. School is out on this group. From where I sit, James Madison may be a step above Montana, but pre - judging successful coaches and lower levels most of the time is a mistake. It looks to me as that there is a master plan here and both the player and coach movement in the off - season are painting a picture. If we can't run the ball next year, we're going to have problems. If we do run the ball, we will be fine.

Wow, I'm impressed.

Perhaps "and I'm just spiffballing here" we are going to run the ball a bit more next year than we did the past 3 years. Perhaps having an RB coach who has been both a star at the position and head coach will help all three retuning RBs (I am assuming Jordan Anderson becomes the short yardage back and he will be damn good at it).

Perhaps the new defensive scheme is designed to fit a more ball control offense and keep us out of the bottom 5 in the conference on third down conversions. One thing is for certin, Durojaiye, Hood, Hayden, Karriem are all no longer with the program for similar reasons. 3 of them can't handle MTM cover. Three others can't tackle.

So, while your suggestion has absolutely nothing to do with whatever scheme we run next year, nor the quality of the coches hired (who have all achieved quite a bit in their careers, I fail to see the correlation between their hire and Art Sitkowski. Also I am certain you have no idea what the comp scheme is for the coaching staff.

If those coaches were good recruiters they would have been poached a long time ago and Bielema would have kept them on the staff. Some of the new coaches have played in the NFL, coached in the NFL and were good recruiters on teams such as Michigan and USC. All of them great recruits who went to Alabama had no problem playing for and old white man in Nick Saban. You are giving Art way too much credit. If he was really that good other colleges especially Rutgers, Penn St., Boston College would have offered him way more many and a new position to be on staff. Sit back and let Bielema cook.

If it's all about NIL, we should hire competent and cheap coaches and redirect saved coaching salaries to NIL.

You’re right, it’s “who”. It is the subject pronoun of the verb “is”. :)
Now back to the regularly scheduled program.

Well if you look what players are media are saying about Wheatley on twitter his head coaching experience is definitely not a plus
