This could actually be the worst staff recruiting wise since Bret has been here. Bunch of old guys who got no energy to hit the trail or have landed big time players. If i am Art, i am walking into Bret's office asking for another raise.
Could be. We definitely need Wheatley to be a productive recruiter, and we definitely don't want to lose Art.

Thad Ward has done a heck of a lot for this program over the years, it stinks to lose him.

Speaking of Wheatley IMO his college career is what I was hoping Feagin would have...

Man this coaching staff is bad.
Maybe. But maybe the handful of Indiana fans who were paying attention at that early point thought the same thing about the staff that pulled off the greatest turnaround in sports history.

Or maybe it's someone obviously posting on multiple accounts and we need to do some mental gymnastics to pretend otherwise
Shh, don’t out Gritty. It’s all so entertaining

Well there's a young guy with the energy for the trail.

Intersected with Rocky Long (though not Hauck) at SDSU, so he knows the defense.

Fleeing a sinking ship at BC.
Pretty good resume of good defenses!

How dare you!!! How dare you go against the prevailing narrative around here! I imagine this is how 1040 and juice man look whenever they see a post of someone disagreeing with them 😂

I’ll speak for my other account and twin. It’s a really mediocre staff. no one on this staff was at a better program than us last season.

Always cautious about coaches who were players or coaches at Michigan previously...easy to look good coaching great talent. Have PTSD from a few past experiences...cough Moeller, Shudel... hopefully Wheatley is an exception. Hopefully he can teach our RB's how to run over defenders.

Should I read negative things into the fact that in just over two hours since the hiring announcement, there have been only two on-subject posts about it?
Guys like me don't know anything about assistant coaches unless they assist the Illini or Bears, or if they played a visible role for the team. I just hope that Bret knows way more than I. Probably the majority of Loyalists would say the same.
You haven't had any assistant coach comments from me unless it regards a guy already assisting.

JMO - Bret knows better who should be on his staff than a bunch of chat board self proclaimed experts.

With portal and $NIL these are different times. Programs trying to run thing old school like Clemson, Oklahoma State are being left in the dust.

if this was Tepper, Zook, Beckman, Cubitt, Smith I would be concerned.

That's a weird arbitrary criteria.

I also think you're underrating Ronnie Bradford a bit as someone with experience as a pre-NIL era football factory position coach recruiting workhorse.

The additions as a whole have a bit of a "Great Plains FCS Goobers" feel to them, sure, fair enough, but Bradford is also the guy who won the down-to-signing-day battle with the best programs in the country for a 5-star in LA who also happened to be Warren G's son. That's a different element.

Another thing for people to keep in mind: who would have thought, 4 years ago, that Art Sitkowski would have been a stud recruiter for us? We don't know how these people relate to high school kids and high school coaches. I am willing to see how this plays out. Bret knows this is about taking the next step, and it's his legacy on the line with continuing this momentum. I trust he knows what he is doing.

I have been underwhelmed by some of the hires, but the addition of Bradford to the D backfield where he will be paired with Corey Parker has the potential to be a grand slam. Bradford's recruiting results at USC were top of the line.
