Ayo translation - "its great being on a team where not everyone else is a defensive liability, it'll make me look better for the same effort i was expending in Chicago" . but said tactfully and kindly

i love this fit for him. watched a few of his games, his new teammates including Ant are already pumped for him. he had 21pts, typical efficiency (9/13, 2/4 3pts) in his second game and you could tell everyone was loving it

Is it my homerism, or does it seem like Illini to the NBA have been relative steals?
Too early to tell really on KJ and Riley but Riley in particular looks extremely promising.

Hasn't gone TSJ's way at all, and unfortunately at his age he's running out of time. A trade in the offseason would probably be best for him.

But Ayo has wildly outplayed the 38th pick, and now that he's away from the Bulls joke of a franchise he may reach even greater heights.

How so? Wasn't he injured and is just now coming back. His stats before that were decent for a bench player in a limited role.
I mean he's played 20 minutes in a game just 8 times in his career and he turns 26 in the summer. Minnesota traded for Ayo because they need what TSJ hasn't given them in terms of a two-way open floor demon.

With Minnesota so apron-limited him on that cheapo late 1st rookie deal looks appealing, but if they aren't going to use him a change of scenery suits everybody.

He's six years older than KJ. On a very different timeline.
