I mean.... it's true though no?
Our best wins are @ Purdue (who hasn't beated a ranked team at home this year) and @ Nebraska (who has never won an NCAA game).

The computers mean jack.

Wellllll...... If you didn't see this coming you haven't watched Michigan this year.
I saw this coming and I have not watched a single Michigan game this year. But I have watched every Illinois game and I have watched Underwood teams repeatedly underperform against well coached teams on the biggest stages.

This was completely predictable if you have been watching Illinois.

Guys, I don’t think Brad is the guy. Feel like the Elite 8 run was his ceiling

I still feel we are a great team, but if we don't hit from three and are facing a team with size and/or athleticism, we will be in trouble. Similar problem as last year where we settled for too many bad threes. Not enough intensity on offense to match their defense.

Finish the season out strong and get a 2 seed hopefully.

Props to Jake Davis for being all over the place and getting on others. He literally stopped a 4 on 1 and got zero support.

I would say we’re lack a big that can actually play down low and be good at defense. Tomi might be the softest big I’ve ever seen. His defense this year has been HORRIFIC.

Still think Morez is a traitor and a sellout but he brought it tonight and was cold blooded. He did not let the crowd impact his gameplay. He's a good player and our fanbase is not happy that he sold his soul for the almighty dollar but that's college athletics for you.
Hate to break the news, but traitors and sellouts (by your definition) are the rule in NIL era college sports, not the exception.
Heck, there are guys selling their soul every season.
How go you think we got the twins. It wasn’t because we routinely have teams playing in final 4.

Our record the last couple weeks doesn’t reflect it …
Besides tonight, all winnable games, but the reason they were close to begin with was is this team's inability to focus on details. This year it seems the big problem is giving up second chance points. Last year it was turning the ball over in the dumbest ways. There's a lot more than these two things when you watch Underwood's Illini against elite teams that you see preventing them from getting over the hump from good to great. Sure, with a favorable bracket in March we could get to the Sweet 16, but I don't see them advancing beyond the second weekend again unfortunately. Our offense always seems to devolve to ISO ball in big games while our opponents swing and cut to an easy 80-90 points while we have to pray our jumpers fall.

Credit to Michigan. They were the better team and an absolute load, think they might end the streak this year.

I’m sorry we can never bring our A game in these marquee home games though. We looked tight all game and were just weren’t aggressive. Michigan got all the 50/50 balls and I feel like the game really broke open on 3 or 4 consecutive broken plays where there was a loose ball/air ball etc that we just couldn’t come up with and led to a Michigan basket.

I also didn’t think our game plan was great or at least our adjustments. We needed to punish Mara on defense. If he was switched onto the perimeter we needed to swing it and find a driving lane and if he was in drop we needed to kick it out to a shooter. Felt like we did the opposite. Forced way too many drives while he was on the paint. And Kylan has to be smarter in his shot selection. They went under all night and baited him into 1-6 on 3s. 0-5 when it mattered,

And ultimately their front line physically dominated ours. Our front line has held up pretty well physically all year but that’s the most physical athletic front line in the country. It is what it is.

Still think this team can make a run. Just sorry we came in a little tight and couldn’t hit enough shots to hang.

Our chemistry and flow early in the year looked incredible.... What happened?

Another question: Who do you "mismatch hunt" when there's no mismatch?

Do we really have the best offensive efficiency numbers in the KenPom era? Ken better change his metrics, sorry.
For one, ran into bad matchups down the stretch that exposed our team's flaw. Whether it be teams with speedy backcourt, bigs on opposing team that can shoot, or teams that are athletic and can space and teams that are fast in transition.

Is this really true though? Didn't insiders say he'd signed a deal and been promised he'd start? And by the end of last season Morez was getting more minutes than Ben, except for games where he got in foul trouble, so again, don't think this rings true.
You’re right, it’s more than that.

He wasn’t getting developed and he saw the same thing happen to him with other players (IMO).

He clearly looked better with more minutes tonight than he did last year with us. He is on a better team and with better coaches. Illinois developing coaches and Xs &Os coaches are all gone.

BS. You think our best effort gets us blown out at home? Absurd. We might still lose, but “seeing this coming” would have very little to do with Michigan and more to do with predicting us to come out flat in one of our biggest home games in 20 years.

I mean you also thought Illinois football team would play Indiana close. Indiana was clearly on a National Championship level and I told you that before the game.

Michigan is on a national championship level. Losing to superior teams happens even if you are at home. Illinois didn’t lose tonight because they didn’t try hard enough. They lost because Michigan has far better and more athletic players, and Michigan was on their game. In tennis terms, the game was on Michigan’s racquet and nothing Illinois could do about it

In the end, it was a 14 point Michigan victory, but Michigan did hold 20 point leads at certain stretches.

I just find it ironic that a poster who predicted a 20 point Illinois loss was told it was a horrible take.

And everyone has a right to his/her opinion.

To me, though, it was a horrible take to critique that so-called horrible take. LOL!

Well, Brad's never played over an 8-man rotation so I'm not entirely sure about the latter.

About Tre White... you could make the argument his skill set would fit this team.

I think Morez could've taken the year 2 jump he has at Michigan.... however, would rather have the guys that want to be here.

I was always a big Tre White fan last year. Wish we could have kept him.

I was told a million times that Andrej's efficiency numbers (especially from three) were because he was the only guy on some bad teams. He's a great slasher/scorer but he needs to add to his outside game.

Last year's Tre White is not better than Stojakovic. I'm sorry, that's just a laugher. Maybe this year's Tre White compares better. I think you are just basing it off of recency bias rather than the entire year's worth of work

Also, I'd take DGL back in a heartbeat over Petrovic. What a sniper he has become. I think we downgraded at the backup guard position

Man…I really wish we could get a second year of Keaton. Even in that butt kicking…he looks so dang good.

I’m over Andrej, though. Good luck at whatever school he transfers to next year.
He really didn't. He was 5 of 15 last game and 7 of 17 this game with 4 turnovers. That's inefficient. On top of that, he was their target at who to go at defensively. He got bullied.
