I guess they are keeping Michigan as a 1 seed. It’s bad though, Iowa probably 12–15 points down from the lopsided calls.

B10 called the officials room at half "you guys realize thats michigan, right boys?"

I mean it’s Iowa’s fault. Their unathletic players are pressuring the ball 35 feet from the basket just asking Michigan to drive by them.

So not quite sure where to put this, but last nights games got me thinking who does more with less between Collins and Gard?

Collins has taken Northwestern, who had previously never been to the NCAAT, to 3, and although he’s gotten the occasional top 100ish kid (Vic Law I think was in that range) he’s mostly done it with 3 star misfit toy type players like Boo Bouie and Nick Martinelli and he runs enough good sets and or schemes enough defensively to junk up the game and keep them competitive, even this year like when they had a 16 point lead on Michigan before essentially running out of gas or last night against Purdue. In fact he usually gives Painter’s team fits.

And Wisconsin always feels like on the verge of circling the drain, but then Gard scoops up another guard off of the transfer portal scrap heap and puts out a competitive squad. Our hit rate in the portal has been pretty good, but Storr, Tonje and Boyd is a pretty incredible run of transfer lead guards no one else really wanted.

I think both are pretty dug in at this point, but would be interesting to see what either could do at an Indiana or Ohio state type program that brings in more talented players. And I don’t know that anyone could do much better than those 2 have at their respective schools (I know Bo got Wisconsin to 2 FFs but that was a different era and it just doesn’t seem like Wisconsin throws a lot of resources behind basketball now based on who they bring in from HS recruiting and the portal).

I think Collins is the better coach. Gard runs the same system Bo did. Its all about the basics. Nothing really seems to change from year to year other than the players. Find players that fit in system X. Rinse, repeat. Collins seems to change things up based on what he can get. His game plans seem to actually differ from game to game.

As people, I'm not a fan of either. Collins tried to force an under performing guard off the team ~8 years ago (the kid was trying). The actions reported about what he had his staff do certainly seemed illegal. I've seen a bunch of unhappy locker room talk coming out of WI since Gard took over. I never heard anything bad when Bo was in charge.

Personally, I’m a fan of fouling up 3… but always interested to see how certain coaches feel about it.

I can’t imagine being as good at rebounding Michigan is, why they don’t foul up 3. That’s a good stirtz look all things considered

Is Trey White in trouble for this incident?

Based on reports from the Kansas loss to Arizona State on March 3, 2026, there was an incident involving a Kansas coach (implied to be an assistant or staff member, not Bill Self, who was ejected) interacting with Tre White
