The records seem simplistic given how the format has evolved. With the triple buy, you can have a great season, but be 0-1 in the tournament, and look worse than some bottom dweller that beat crummy teams. I'd argue championships/finals, and at 18 teams, even semis are good indicators of historical success.

Huh, Jaden Schutt is on a bottom tier ACC VT team. How about that.
Just shows how hard it is to predict HS kids. I think committing to Duke contributed to his high ranking. We have had our share of high ranked disappointments

Just happy Jaden get to play

I expect a lot of these tournament ladder games to start with the weaker team playing better out of the gate (since they were coming off a game yesterday), and then the better team slowly reining them in until they take over in the second half.

On a related note, Iowa is currently on a 41-13 run, taking a 51-34 lead against Maryland.

How are you liking the glass floor?
Seems very weird on TV - like a poor attempt at VR.

I hope the glass floor does not become a thing. I am a technology person by career and personal interest but this does not enhance the experience for me at all. Some players complaining about traction and the distraction of it and headaches from it. Anything that changes game play shouldn’t be done IMO. And imagine being in the huddle and having videos playing underneath you. I think it’s driven all by the advertising opportunities.

Iowa struggling with Maryland. Only took their first lead of the second half just now.
I was talking about this in another thread but this is actually fairly common in the BTT. Teams playing their 2nd game seem to come out pretty hot in the 1st half more often then not, but typically fade late. Question is whether those Day 1 teams can hold on to the early lead they tend to get. Usually though, the team with the bye wakes up, gets used to the shooting background, and then starts taking over. If Iowa wins this one, I expect something similar tomorrow between Iowa and OSU with Iowa getting an early lead and then try and hold on for dear life.

There was some article I recall 2 years ago when NC State won 5 games in 5 days to win the ACC tourney that noted how insane that feat was because bye teams facing team that played the prior day had like a 90+% winning percentage over the prior 10 years in ACC play (now, the bye teams are pretty much always the better team so take that into consideration as well, but 92% is very high... also this was just ACC so data was limited to that).

For me nothing will ever beat dead last in the SEC Georgia having a tornado hit the Georgia Dome as they were waiting to take the floor against Kentucky, they rescheduled the game at Georgia Tech overnight, and then they beat Kentucky and Mississippi State on the same day to advance to the final which they won.
