Wisconsin has little rim protection and has been brutally bad without Winter giving up offensive rebounds. We have to pound these guys in the paint and on the glass. Expect we'll see a flurry of threes early from the Badgers but keep chopping wood and we should wear them down. Illini by 12.

The difference between Wisconsin’s offense and Illinois’ offense is offensive rebounds. Both teams take a ton of 3s… however, Illinois has the 3rd highest OREB% in the nation, while Wisconsin is 212th.

The difference in our first game, surprisingly, was our inability to block out and give WISC extra opportunities. Need to clean that up for today’s game.

This is precisely why I said earlier in the thread that we need to start the game attacking the rim repeatedly. Get some layups, draw some fouls, get the tourney nerves out, and eventually it will pay off with better looks from 3.

It also matters WHO takes our 3s. Right now it should be Keaton and Mirk getting the most looks. If Kylan and Stoj are shooting most of the 3s, we're in trouble.
at this point i'm mad if stojakovic takes any shot that's not a dunk

We’re way behind Purdue in head to head regular season conference record. Would love the opportunity to take them down in the title game and even up the big ten tournament head to head record.

Looks like a few sportsbooks have us at -9.5. Maybe they did all along- last night I didn't look at anything other than whatever ESPN shows

Kind of on topic but not: in my ongoing effort to cover the best road BT hoops venues for Illini games during the onset of my golden years, I'm curious about seeing a game at the Kohl Center in Madison. Crisler last year was OK but that's a pedestrian arena, and not much better now post-renovation than it was the previous time I was there in '90 (when it was a dank, creepily-lit pit of no architectural significance.) The Breslin Center last month, however, was a truly memorable road trip and top-drawer game atmosphere despite the OT loss.

I realize that Madison during BB season isn't exactly a garden spot but am wondering whether the Kohl Center experience is worth the effort. My gut tells me no: it's Crisler North at best, and we should save Madison for a football game at some point.

Thanks for any feedback on this. And crush Bucky this afternoon. :illinois:

Been to several games there. Including vs IL and against Purdue. If it's during the week the environment can be sleepy. If both teams are good and it's a weekend the crowd is better. Probably not ruckus an atmosphere as Breslin, @Nebraska, or Rutgers when their good. Been to lots of football games though. Good tailgating along Regent St. The results sucked this past November but was glorious a few years back when Illini crushed them ending the Chryst era
