Mara is such a force
I hate that this is true . . . he’s the walking proof that you can’t catch height. He wouldn’t see the floor if he was 6’10”, but there’s no denying how he can impact a game just with his presence.

How did Wisky lose 9 games this year...and Yaxel hits a game winning 3 with .3 left in the game...

It’s amazing how bad some of these teams look offensively when they aren’t playing us or how good they look when they play us. For a while, you’re ignorant enough to think its bad luck, until you realize there’s always one common denominator.

Wisconsin looks extremely pedestrian, just like they did against Washington
Oops. The narrative fell apart with the Wisconsin comeback to take the lead.

We are a top 5-10 team BUT we don’t have closers like many of the other top teams. Difference between us and Michigan the last two days is Cadesu and Lendeborg hit late daggers to outduel Wisconsin. Our guys missed the big shots and we go home.

That was perfect. Short of their being a meteor. Everyone can see that blowing a 15 point lead isn’t unique to Illinois against Wisconsin. Yet I didn’t want Wisconsin to win.

The last 3 minutes of regulation:

Tomi made 2 FTs
Keaton driving layup
Tomi layup
Jake misses front end of 1:1

Blackwell misses deep 3 at end of regulation

Last 90 seconds of OT:

David splits pair of FTs
David layup
David 3 pointer
David layup

Keaton misses 3 at end of OT

I guess we could say Keaton missed 'the big shot' but I think its pretty obvious we were in the situation we were in because (a) we didn't rebound well enough and (b) we missed too many FTs (got outscored at the FT line by 16 points)

EDIT: Apologies, just realizing we are both off topic in this thread... replied to you without considering we're not in the post game thread

Boyd and Blackwell with 14pts and 13pts against Michigan. How was our adjusted defensive rating like 23rd in those metric rankings

We also missed a pretty unacceptable number of FTs late in regulation that would have made Blackwell's missed deep 3 at the end of regulation result in us advancing, though.

We aren’t the only team to blow a 15 point lead against Wisky. Boyd and Blackwell have no legs today but Rapp is cooking…
Boyd and blackwell with 1 ft attempt total and only 5 for badgers. Its crazy how refs call games can impact a game. We shouldve won anyway but the refs blew the whistle when we didnt even touch guys yesterday and not much today.

That Dayton vs Stl game was one of the best finishes I’ve seen in a while. Electric
