I hope I didn't fall for a fake tweet on the tipoff time & TV

If we lose to either Houston or Florida in OT..........well, it will be a very long off-season.
As frustrating blowing the Wisky lead was, I was really hoping to get the OT monkey off our back. There is no way guys aren’t thinking about that if the situation happens in the tourney.

The Power kid looks solid. Was top 40 HS recruit
So are we going to "turn off his water" or attempt to shut everyone else down because he can't beat us alone? Either way, he probably goes for 30+

If we don’t feed the beasts inside we are clueless. Mirk and Ivisics should feast. Don’t like that they shoot the three well
After the bracket was announced, I decided to go back and watch the TN game from earlier in the year. We need to get the ball down low to Tomi and let him operate on the block. He had 14 in the first half against TN, mostly on post ups. Need to get back to that.

Sorry if someone already asked, but I thought Fran left Iowa because he retired, now he is coaching Penn.
Did he get canned at Iowa? I thought he was a lifer.

Thought the game at Nebraska was the most consistent and focused we played all year. The stretch that started by beating Missouri, Tennessee and 10 others was our best stretch. Getting MSU stolen from us and then losing multiple OT games got us down this road. But that stretch doesn't look that bad, yes we blew leads and loss every OT game, but they were to all hot or highly seeded teams. Need to pivot back to the success we had in Jan and early Feb.

Yeah, he got thrown out of his last game (against us) and then fired immediately thereafter…fitting ending at Iowa but I’ve never disliked the guy, just hate Iowa.

Fun fact…With him making the tourney, he’s now taken 5 different schools to the NCAAT as a head coach. Only a few other coaches have done that…I think 3.

Athletic? No. Shoots like a rifleman? Yes. Power scored 44 earlier today.

Their 3pt shooters are at 43, 40, and 38%. Not athletic, but if Fran schemes to get these guys open shots? They will drain them.

We can trounce them if we do our own scheming to take advantage of our strengths, but this is a serious matchup.
Then it's a typical Fran-coached team.

VCU matches up well with North Carolina. VCU is not a typical A-10 team. They have 3 top 55 RSCI players. They have talent. I am also intrigued by Martelli Jr. as their coach. Maybe a future Illini coaching prospect? Dad was an assistant coach at Michigan as well as longtime St. Joe's coach.
All of those things add up to me watching with great interest 😏. Either team will be challenging to the Illini. Illini need to come ready for this weekend.

Kinda like how Bobby hauck retired and is coaching here next year.

I think Fran/Iowa parted ways though. That’s how it was announced I believe.

Please note: Thinking about a handlebar mustache and FOCUSING on a handlebar mustache are two different things.
Really!!! What a strange response to that tweet. I just envision people pushing out their chests and jaws as they say “he needs to concentrate on basketball damn it”. Too funny.
