The thing that scares me about Penn is that they love to shoot the 3 and that Underwood says our defense is built to allow more 3's and not give up easy 2's. I'm sure we'll adjust, right?

Illini 83
Penn 66

Best case scenario : establish Tomi in the paint. He’s shooting 72% on 2’s let’s get him feeling good again. We need him I’d rather his butt be on the box than at the 3 pt. line. The rest of the game can flow around that. Will probably help his confidence on D as well.

Kind of an odd thing about them, but I’m not sure they do actually love to shoot the 3 as they’re bottom 25 percentile in 3 point attempt rate.

Even though they’re 11th in the nation in 3 point shooting percentage.

I’d think, well they probably are really good from 2 point range since they don’t shoot many 3s? Nope. They are 346th in two point shooting percentage.

So question for anyone who’s watched them: why the heck do they shoot so few 3 pointers when thats the thing they’re actually good at?

Yep. I watched that game and it got me thinking. They have 3+ natties between them. So yea.

The standing vs sitting: watch some other teams… Duke, a good example, Scheyer is seated often this season… some coaches just micromanage more than others (often can have to do with overall player maturity/IQ or your guards ability to play call, etcetera, but anyway)

I also went back and watched that St John’s v UConn game on 3x speed and there were many instances of both coaches having a seat for a few

You guys will get all triggered about literally anything- could even be some guy’s mustache for example lol

LaTulip has us in the Final Four. 🤔💯🏆 Mike is usually the smartest guy in the room re: college hoops. Praying he’s right.
Counterpoint, so does Jay Bilas, so the intelligence factor evens out 😂

GREENVILLE, SC --- CONSISTENTLY VOTED TOP 10 BY CONDE NAST, AMONG ALL SMALL CITIES IN USA!

Tickets purchased. Check.
House cleaned for all of our out-of-town relatives/guests. Check
Contingency/substitute MLB expert lined up for Saturday's all-day fantasy baseball draft. Check.

That leaves finding the best pre-game spot prior to Thursday's game at Bon Secours Wellness Arena. I'm going to have to recommend Yee-Haw Brewing Company, easily walkable to the venue. They'll have the NCAA tourney on all day long. One mega-large outdoor TV screen. Several TV's inside. Weather s/b mid 60's during daylight hours.....then warmer (70's and 80's) on Friday and Saturday.

For alternative dining & shopping options, check out Main Street in downtown Greenville. All types of cuisine available. Also walkable to/from Yee-Haw and the basketball arena. Should be one of the best 1st round venues at which the Illini have ever played --- as long as we win 2!

Sideline coaching style is irrelevant. Wooden vs. Knight vs. Coach K vs Bill Self. Genius is genius. It comes in all forms.

Just look past it.

Everything else involved in coaching carries 99.9% of the weight.

4. Pittino won with Louisville and Kentucky. Everyone on ESPN screaming about St. John's draw. Maybe they did get screwed.
