That is part of our problem, we don’t have any beasts inside. If we don’t feed the beasts inside we are clueless. Mirk and Ivisics should feast. Don’t like that they shoot the three well

No offense, but what part of this Illini squad lead you to believe they will "bully" or "punish" anyone? With our positional height and size advantage, I think we need to bully them inside the paint from start to finish. I'd go inside every trip down the court, Once we've punished them down low and they start to double-team, we pass back outside to our best shooters for wide open looks.
80% of our shots need to be up close --- Andrej, David, the twins and then add-in some Bam and Wagler drives to the bucket for layups. Andrej leads us in scoring with 26.
Therefore, we have zero risk of going 5 for 40 from long distance. But even more importantly, play DEFENSE.
I mean, if we lose this game, I might quit sports for a while.just read a prediction article by TIM REYNOLDS / AP REPORTER who has Penn upsetting the Illini..............

South: Florida, Clemson, McNeese, Nebraska, North Carolina, Penn (by far, our biggest upset pick), Texas A&M, Houston.

Picking the NCAA men's bracket: Michigan beats Duke for the national championship
The top seeds this season are Florida, Duke, Michigan and Arizona. It would be a sensational Final Four if they all got to the national semifinals. But can history repeat itself and four No. 1 seeds get there for the second straight year?www.stltoday.com
Women Illini basketball and then Illinois Spring football.I mean, if we lose this game, I might quit sports for a while.
Take up wood carving or something. Buddhist retreat.
I don’t really remember the game but they only beat Penn St by 8.Here's a fun one for you: Penn will be the worst team Illinois will have played in the calendar year 2026. The second-worst team? Penn State.
If this team is anything, it's a problem for Pennsylvanians.
I agree. Last year that is exactly what happened and turnovers shot up drastically. This year is looking similar. This seems to happen to us every year. We have games early and mid-season where ball and player movement is very good, and we get a variety of good shots from a variety of players. Inevitably however, by year-end our offense devolves into a couple of guys trying to beat their man on every possession, with everyone else just standing around. I used to think this was just an Andres Feliz thing, but it has happened every year since then as well. Not sure if it is intentional or is due to lack of discipline, but it is maddening to watch
I say go full super trooper. Being the heat! The board would burn from within lol
They'll take a much higher percentage against us...because we will give those looks up. Book it.
Pay no mind, it’s an emotional take. You can be a professional athlete and a kid at the same time. One has nothing to do with the other, the brain still has lots of development left. Would you say any professional athlete that gets a haircut 4 days before a game is not focusing on the game?
B U doesn’t do much coaching.Watched the second half of Big East Championship and can confirm. Hurley and Pitino were standing and coaching the whole time
dude saw a bunch of white guys win a conference tournament and assumed they're all shooters lol
It’s just that March Madness turns many of us into cowlick-y, inconsolable infants.I can't hair you.
Is it because they prefer high percentage 2-pointers and only take 3s when they get good ones? It seems like an intelligent way to play. If they were less judicious with their 3-point attempts, their percentage would likely be a lot lower. So question for anyone who’s watched them: why the heck do they shoot so few 3 pointers when thats the thing they’re actually good at?

No matter the mustache, body position, headphones, haircuts, nagging aches, cottage cheese, whiskey, pizza, french fries, number of 3-pointers, refs, treadmills, etc
Put them down early and pour it on the whole game. Energy and toughness
For as bad as people suggest our 3pt defense is... it really isn't. Here's where we rank nationally in opponent 3pt percentage:
They're 346th in the nation in 2 point field goal percentage which was why I was confused at their shot diet (they seem to much prefer 2s than 3s, but they're horrible from 2 and very good from 3)
Um. Generalize much? The standing vs sitting: watch some other teams… Duke, a good example, Scheyer is seated often this season… some coaches just micromanage more than others (often can have to do with overall player maturity/IQ or your guards ability to play call, etcetera, but anyway)
I also went back and watched that St John’s v UConn game on 3x speed and there were many instances of both coaches having a seat for a few
You guys will get all triggered about literally anything- could even be some guy’s mustache for example lol
Yea and Pitino has 2 natties. smhYet St John’s is a 5 seed and Brad has a 3 seed. Last year, St John’s lost as a 2 seed to a 10 seed in the second round. Which is worse than any NCAA defeat Brad has taken here.
