I have no real disdain for Sampson honestly. That was a sinking ship with or without Ej, and he more than paid his price and we lucked out - he’d be a nightmare at IU in the long run.

We can quibble over stadium price and upgrade - a “significant investment” let’s call it that?

You’re right it’s easier to go to donors and ask for more for guys to come back once you’ve been in the final four with those same guys. But the roster ain’t remotely close to cheap - neither of us know, but I’d be stunned if Houston’s isn’t more or right with us. Plus they’re eating the tax on being forced to hire his son as the next head coach

Note: on Sampson. Isn’t it funny how different we look on certain things in hindsight? Ej being stolen back then, most the fanbase despises Sampson to this day. Morez gets stolen now (and he actually suited up!) RayJ Dennis robbed at the last minute - and we clown Brad for it. Different times
Sampson Jr will get 3-5 years to prove himself after Kelvin hangs it up…if he doesn’t get in any trouble off the court. Isn’t that a Sampson thing to do before leaving the sport, by holding a program hostage with his son to next in line, LOL.

I can only speak for myself, but Morez leaving was obvious from the start of Big Ten play. I was surprised when it was announced he was coming back. I’m frustrated with that situation bc this staff did everything right in recruiting him. They prioritized him over Brown or whoever his teammate at St Rita was, bought him too Champaign plenty of times, showed him he was essential. He rewarded us by sticking with his commitment for 2 years. Then he gets here and it looked like he was insignificant or not very valuable. I can see how it would seem like he would t be vital this year either with Ben and Tomi coming back. It’s hard to believe there wasn’t internal talk already of Z coming in as well.

Every single one of your comments is a fight.

Humor me for one moment and allow me to defend myself just a little bit here. Lets look at this interaction and decide where it went off the rails:

This guys highlight reel is unreal, very unique player

He literally carries the ball on every dribble.
Interesting, just rewatched the whole vid and not sure I saw one carry... at least not egregious enough to be called... that's one they mostly let go anyway, just ask Nick Boyd, ha
This is mid-dribble on like the 3rd bounce. Just one example & something that caught my eye. And you are 100% right...I bet I didn't see 3 of those called all year. If they did, Boyd woulda been cooked.
And they don’t call that when you’re 35 feet from the basket and not gaining an advantage by doing it
I love how people on here will find a way to argue about anything. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

So who made this a fight/argument?

I LITERALLY AGREED WITH HIM THAT THEY DON'T CALL THOSE CARRIES

Geezus

my larger question relative to pure NIL here and not revenue sharing (I will assume all B1G programs are paying that out in a similar fashion to their sports) is

how do we ever really know what any school is paying? what incentive does any school have to be truthful?
I concur........we never knew when it was under the table either..................
