Sleep on the A10 at your own peril. That's a good basketball conference. I don't think either team is a doormat but I would probably rather play UNC.
VCU also would have had a legitimate shot of getting an at large bid either way. They have a very similar resume to Saint Louis(they are in the 40s for kenpom, net, bart, etc.). They are one of the best 3pt shooting teams in the country and the Illini aren't really the type of team to take advantage of their lack of a true center.
UNC simply isn't nearly as dangerous without Wilson and Hubert Davis is an idiot. Maybe Trimble could kill us on the dribble drive the way a lot of smaller guards that don't shoot very well seem to but I would probably rather play a soft UNC team on its last legs than a VCU team that you know if going to be hungry and ready to play.
Treat EVERY defensive possession like your season depends on it. Attack EVERY rebound like your season is on the line. That’s it.
The offense will be there. Go inside EVERY damn position. These guys can’t stop us inside. We should get 40+ points in the paint.

The best power conference teams are older and deeper than ever and the can also plug any holes in their roster from year to year. Plus, guys stay in college longer due to NIL and good young mid major players jump to the P5 level for NIL(Would Steph, Lillard, Obi Toppin, or CJ Mccollum have stayed at their schools?)
Before the instant transfer portal your only additions were relying on Freshman, the occasional grad transfer, or a transfer that had to sit a year.
So teams just had to make the most of the guys and adjust their play style to fit the roster they have and how their guys have developed.
All of that really combined to kill the advantages that mid majors had. The good mid majors that won't conferences were generally full of upper classmen that had played together in the same system from 3 or 4 years. That was a huge advantage in March when you were playing teams that might be more talented than you but were reliant on Freshman and sophomores.

During those 7 games KB was out, Keaton averaged 25 and we were 5-2. Wins over Purdue and Nebraska with the only 2 losses in OT (Mich St, Wisconsin)
The 7 games he’s been back the Illini have went 4-3 and Keaton has only averaged 15PG.
Really need KW to take control of this team.
