Idk if I’d include BYU in that … Saunders loss was a huge deal …

Kentucky spent like $22 million … Think that’s the worst ROI in the country …

Texas didn’t spend as much as people think … Lower Middle of the SEC in spending … Little over half what we spent …

For sure Kentucky.

Saunders injury was tough… but even then. They were deep into the season before he went down and I think they had zero wins against top 25 Kenpom teams in all the games he played. They did blast Wisconsin before the badgers turned a corner tho

Small fortune to get AJ and steal wright

They beat Miami, Clemson, Wisconsin, came to within 2 against Uconn. They were ranked higher than us. So let me ask you, are they more or less dangerous now? Because your comments insinuate they're a better team without him. You're going backwards.

Huh? Going backwards? My post had nothing to do with if they’re better without Saunders or not.

all those teams you listed when they played twere under Kenpom 25. All besides Wisconsin still are (they’re 22). Also think that UCONN game was without Reed and Mullins

They’ve spent a ton on their roster and I’m saying they were disappointing with Saunders And they’ve been disappointing without Saunders.

Preseason top 10, and were all the way down to 22 when Saunders got hurt. Now a 6 seed. Disappointing. Could obviously change the narrative though.

Our inbound plays seem to be based on getting the ball in our hands rather than a potential designed scoring play… bottom line we make it work! lob out to a position player and work from there. Some will be critical but I like keeping possession! Won’t hear me crying!
Baseline plays are the same… get it in our hands.
I've wondered about that

Maybe for all the easier points you can get off a well designed play, there are enough where your play gets blown up and you risk a turnover, possibly even a fast break the other way. And for all the time spent implementing those plays, you could have just been working on your standard off and def, which benefits you on nearly every possession.

I don't think I'm quite convinced of this, but I do wonder

Looking ahead to Friday's games but if anyone wants a fun watch Dominique Daniels is maybe the most fun point guard to watch in the country and he plays for Cal Baptist.

They play Kansas on Friday night. The kid is probably 5'8 but he's absolutely electric.

Sidenote: do Juco years count against eligibility?

Most teams I've watched use the same lob on baseline OB, unless the shot clock is almost expired. It seems the goal of most teams is to get into their offense unless time on the clock prohibits that...or they've spotted some vulnerability in the way the opponent guards the baseline OB.

So that means we get Moe Howard?

I'll see myself out.

You mentioned "before Sanders went down" as if it makes them a worse team, which I agree. But when he went down they were 19-6 with only losses to top 15 teams besides OSU on the road, and had potentially the #1 draft pick. Just because preseason people that have never seen this team play before hyped them up doesnt mean they were struggling. There's not a team in America that wouldn't pay the asking price for AJ. He's far from a small fortune. Do you think they make the tourney without him?
I don't understand why people are so quick to dog players on this board. Especially the whole Andrej thing. Hes our 2nd leading scorer with the tourney starting this week and people are on here wanting to kick him off the team. How about save it til the tourney is over?

I wasn't "dogging on saunders", nor did i say they were better without him. What i did say was that team was disappointing both with him and without him given the amount of NIL was spent on that roster.

I wasn't dogging any player and you very clearly have not seen my thoughts on Andrej lol - which is fine, I know i have a decent amount of posts. Check out the hoops recruiting board for my stance on Andrej when you get a chance. You'll like what you find.

NIT Wichita St vs Wyoming. W ST won by 4. Huge play late in the game was an inbound under their basket for a wide open dunk. Pretty high percentage play. If we tried that and it didn't open for us we could always lob it to Mirk way out away from the basket.

Lou actually started playing zone (which he hated) on that play because we occasionally got burned in man.

Run the play, if it doesn't open throw the BLOB.

NCAA Tournament First Four Day 2

16 Prairie View A&M vs 16 Lehigh, 5:40pm CT, truTV

11 Miami OH vs 11 SMU, 8:15pm CT, truTV

(Plus 8 NIT games)

I think SMU destroys Miami oh
SMU is favored by 7.5, which is a ton for an at-large play-in game.

I suppose that wouldn't be a blowout, but 7.5pts/game is ~11pts/100 possessions, and that's about the difference between them in KenPom (#42 vs #93)
