After reading that article, the uniform patterns of the last several years make so much more sense. One dude just picks and his main priority was to spread out the usage of each evenly. I was catching up on the thread and was going to type this verbatim before I flipped the page and saw you posted it.In fact, we should stop even referring to them as alternates! The alternates are the standard. And not simply this calendar year. Each subsequent season. "Throwbacks" do not exist, only the traditional FI bock and scripts. Nothing further is required or desired.
And kill that awful rebrand font. In the SFC. In Memorial Stadium. In the baseball and softball stadiums. In the Armory. In the Illini Union. On all uniforms. Everywhere. Forever.

Maybe have a "disco sucks" night type deal when every team brings their unis with that font to the quad and burns them? Just an idea

I'm more troubled that the "process" comprises a single individual imposing his own aesthetic preferences on the fanbase. One one hand, perhaps he has had a hand in reviving the FI Block and script unis. Bravo, if so. OTOH, he's imposing those awful rebrand font unis on us. Does a contractual obligation with a manufacturer exist to use that hideous font?

If he did, though, it might mean we didn't have to have him on the court next season.
If I recall, from Fighter's chronology the last time we saw any of the 1LL1NO1S versions was mid-January. Maybe we have already witnessed their unceremonious demise.
I am interested to see if the Women's team gets a refresh next season. As far as I know, they don't have any script versions at all. They do have a navy F1GHT1NG 1LL1N1 they wear quite often.

It's some kind of graphic hombre effect, look at the ball and his arm sleeve they both fade colors as well.
